My playlist is pretty varied, there's little music i don't like which can be annoying cos i want everything! Music is memories for me mostly, every song has a story behind it usually, & i'm a sucker for a good guitar hook, or great bass line, or funking grooving drums....
Here's a live film of 'The Sex Pistols Experience' doin their thing..
Gotta be Johnny Cash -anytime day or night..!
Some Beer Buddie's of mine - love Em'.!! (been kicked out a couple of hotels with these boys.!) 'The Anti Nowhere League'.. check them out...
A bloke i'm happy to call a 'friend' .. It's Ed'..!!
A Great Band 'The Ruts'.. have a look at a classic 'New wave' song song - (R.I.P Paul Fox)

Television
am a telly addict.. can flick around all day if i get a chance! 'Ramseys kitchen nightmares' is great.! Biography & national Geo channel, i got Sky for MTV - but its all shite these days - R&B Rap hip-hop shit bollocks - fuck that! Chart music is generally all crap these days with the odd exception. 'Soaps' are banned from my box - life's too short to waste watching someone else's fake life! Big Brother wannabes should be shot.
Books
Autobiographies mostly, & travel books, & maps..love them maps.! gotta know where you are & where you going & where you've been.
Heroes
don't have any hero's - but 'inspirations' is a better word.. Gene Krupa, Jerry Nolan, Paul Hester, Taylor Hawkins, Keith Moon, John Martin (aka 'The big figure' Dr Feelgood), Ced Sharpley(Numan), Paul Cook, Clem Burke (Blondie) apart from drummers - Johnny Cash, Elvis, Evel Knevel, Micheal Palin, Chubby Brown & Bernard Manning(for being honest.!) George Forman & Lenny Mclean - now that would of been some boxing match!!? Gordon Ramsey, Bob Marley, Joe Strummer.
"Don't ever call me your fucking drummer - your MY fucking singer..!" -Charlie Watts to Mick Jagger - (love it!!)
Paul Crook - Drummer i cant be arsed with xmas shopping, buying shit that no one really wants & spending money i ain't got, i just wanna go the pub & get pissed til jan 2nd. Posted at 10:39 PM Dec 21, 2009 view more
"Come'on son - get your arse outta bed!!"
" Mother, i don't ever need get out of bed again - i'm going to be a musician!!"
Hello, i'm 'Paul Crook', or simply 'Dave' to those who know me.! I've been involved with a few good bands over the years, doing hundreds of gigs & having fun throughout my younger days, until the time came when i could finally take the big plunge, throw-in the 'day-job', & become a full time 'muso'. Currently bangin the tubs with the Sex Pistols Experience - but i'm always open to new offers & shows!??
Using knowlage i'd learned from years of studying at the 'hard knock school of music' i push my bands as hard & far as possible, i dont just drift along waiting for things to happen, i try to make things happen, & create opportunities, the World is out there - you just have to go get it..!
'Swords of 1000 Men' 2009 with 'Ed Tenpole Tudor'
I never used to be too fussed about the thought of playing in tribute/cover's bands - thinking as many people do, 'its a cop-out', but i was wrong. Coming from the musical desert that is East yorkshire (north east of England) there were/are never any opportunities to make it anywhere playing original music other than to a local bar or club, & when you tire of travelling around stuck in the back of a freezing knackerd old van, playing original music to next to no-one for years - being lucky to get paid -if at all, getting no breaks, & nothing much to look forward to (musically speaking), then a good tribute/covers band is a challenging & exciting way for a musician to earn a living & perofrm to big enthusiatic crowds - "Yes" i'd rather be doing something more original - but so long as i'm playing It - it beats working a 9 to 5 any day.!!
.
The raise in popularity of tribute show's is growing ever bigger around the U.K, Europe & beyond. But i have high standards, & only want ot be involved in working with the best, there are a lot of crap one's out there, who are not fans of the chosen band, have no talent, & are just in it to make a 'quick-buck' - they give the rest of us a bad reputation! The 'Sex Pistols Experience' will never be topped by any other, many try & fail, they come & go every year. But this band won't last forever -so i will do as i've always done - just take each day as it come's, live for the moment, & look forward to the next show!!
Hot & sweaty at the end of the gig...
I'm also fortunate enough to be depping for another of the u.k's top Tribute's - streatching my drumming wings with 'CROWDED OUT' Who provide THE most authentic and accurate live tribute to Crowded House in Europe - probably the world - & i'm very happy to relive my memories of seeing C.House shows in Melbourne, Bradford, Sheffield etc through performing their music occasionally myself! Sitting in for Paul Hester was always an ambition, & this is as near as i'll get after missing out on the Crowded House auditions to new drummer Matt Sherrod - who does a great job i might add, filling the big boots of Paul Heater...
UK tribute 'CROWDED OUT' boast an impressive and experienced line-up of musicians drawn together by a passion for the brilliant music and incredible live spirit of Crowded House.

"When i was a kid i used to love stopping up late on a Saturday night Glued to the telly waiting for Starky & Hutch to come on, i wanted that car..! Who didn't? When i got into my late 30's & did my first USA Tour i found an old wreak of one that years before had had a side impact & been left in a field since 1981, Un-touched for 25yrs in the californian sun, it was deemed worth saving as it was one of only approx 1,200 factory produced S&H replicas, & one of the few remaining of only 50 made which had the huge 460 engine as opposed to the usual 351 winsor or similar slow tug-boat motor usually found in them. This car was salvagable - but it was going to be a hell of a lot of work...
With a donor Torino available to chop up, and shelves filled with 'new old stock' (NOS) parts specifically ordered, a complete strip down was begun at the 'Zebra3 workshop in San Diego, every nut & bold was removed, everything was taken off, & out, replaced where needed, or cleaned, re-painted, re-chromed, re-upholstered, re-built from the tires to the red light on top, from the front fender to the back exhaust tip, nothing went un-treated. Finishing up with a full new leather custom interior, kick-ass sound system, & a new 460 big-block beast of an engine. Then after almost a year of continuous work, the car rolled out into the sun, fired-up & is ripping up the streets once again.! I shipped it over to the uk & it can often be seen cruising the streets of Northern England.
Sadly, I rarely get a chance to use it now as i'm often away weekends doing gigs - so if you feel you could this car a good home, & have the money burnin' a hole - then give me a shout & i could be pursuaded to part with this fantastic motor.. at the right price..
Do you want to be the talk of the town? Then you could hire my Starsky & Hutch Ford Gran Torino for your wedding, party, 70's Club night, or Event.. call 'Stars Cars' for the best hire rates in the uk:- 02828 583500 or drop me a mail..
