your class of 1974 high school prom band from the barrios of 2006 san anto! grooves, puts out the soul, rocks hard, soft rocks, funktafizes, jazzes it up, jams it down, gives you great solo moments from other galaxies all the way around the whole sexto crew! heavy lyrics and overall heavy on the gravy!
Sexto Sol
O U R__N E X T__S H O W:
"Somos las hijas y los hijos
del Sexto Sol, the Sixth Sun,
sol de justicia still to come...still to come
Cuatro Serpiente, Nahuicoatl."
Sexto Sol is an original music act that effectively blends alternative rock, latin and soul music together in a way you’ve never dreamed. Sam Villela (Keys and Vocals), Eddie Hernandez (Guitar), Juan Ramos (Drums), Greg Goodman (Bass) and James Moody (Percussion) are the innovators, bringing their varied musical influences together to form Sexto Sol.
Juan Tejeda, music instructor at Palo Alto College and accordionist for the Conjunto Aztlan, has written about Sexto Sol based upon his experience following the band: they have developed a distinctive musical identity and carved a very important niche in the musical scene of San Antonio. They are an integral part of San Antonio’s artistic and cultural community with a loyal base of fans that is growing. Sam Villela’s soulful, rhythm-n-blues-laden tunes add a much-needed vocal complement to the band’s repertoire. Of course, let’s not forget the powerful and flowing bass lines of Greg Goodman, the steady back beat and percolating percussion of drummer and founding member, Juan Ramos, and James Moody. "El indio," Eddie Hernandez, rounds out the band with his alternating effervescent chords and rock-me-out guitar licks. (Sexto Sol)An original voice that is firmly rooted to its beloved San Antonio, but with branches that extend to the global community. Fusing elements of Latin rock, punk, pop, alternative, heavy rock, rhythm-n-blues, salsa, jazz, cha cha cha y mas, they are a band for the 21st century

I added a new song to the player. It’s called “Frantic Freedom”.
It’s a live studio groove rock jam that’s funky as hell! Think of Jimi Hendrix’s “Foxey Lady” on steroids, and you’ll have a good idea of what’s in store for you when you hear the song. There’s also a companion live video for the song. And in the video I do my upside-down guitar thing. Ya gotta see it!!
Also, I added another video called “a little bit of my history”, in which I talk about some of the things that shaped me as a guitar player.
Hey there! Just stoppin' by to wish you a great week!! If you get the chance please check out my new song "No Other Day" and let me know what you think!! Thanks :-)
