FloorPlay
is Blackpool's newest, sexiest clubnight with top DJs giving you a proper house
workout. The name is obviously a sexual innuendo for Foreplay, hence the music
policy being sexy house music. Expect to hear a FUNKY mix of ELECTRONIC DANCE
music infused with HOUSE anthems and OLD SKOOL classics.
The music policy
enables you to either relax, chill, and get romantically involved or be upbeat,
dance, and boogie, wether in a bar, club, or even a house party.
With a successful
trial run in a couple of Blackpool bars and events held in Liverpool, Manchester,
Birmingham, and Lincoln, as well as the promotional CDs left at numerous private
parties, FloorPlay is already a talking point amongst house music lovers. The
events owner and promoter Gav Valentine says "This isn't just
the funky house music that you hear on the commercial bandwagon, it is a heady
mix of some of the best house music ever produced, some old, some new, it's
all in there."
Gav himself
is one of 3 resident DJs of FloorPlay, looking after all things this side of
the millennium. The other DJs were both finalists in Blackpool Spotlight Magazines
Battle of the DJs competition 2006. Goat Guy aka Glenn 'High
Times' Meehan, plays original house music that is piano led, vocal hooked, and
with a feel good factor, all dating back from its origins in the late 80s and
early 90s. In other words, what we now know as Chicago and US house and Italian
style old skool music. DJ Mike Walker from Rhyl in Wales plays
all modern electro sounding dance music but likes to play around with classic
acapellas thrown into his set, making it very original. With Mike living in
Wales he cannot play at every event. There will also be a special guest DJ at
each event too that will be playing the very best new house music, wether it
be electro, techno, funky, or even Hed Kandi style tunes.
