   San Francisco Comedy College's Blurbs
About me:
Since 1999, the San Francisco Comedy College has assisted speakers, trainers, comedians and amazing people from all walks of life to reach their comedic potential and enhance their interpersonal relationships. 2006 promises to be our biggest year to date as we open and book more comedy rooms throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and other California markets, train more sales teams and executives in Silicon Valley, and continue our first rate stand-up comedy and improvisation training program at Rooster T Feathers in Sunnyvale. Currently, we offer training and stage time in SF and Sunnyvale. The San Francisco Comedy College has produced 5 of the 10 finalists including the winner of 2005 San Jose Improv "Battle of the Bay". 5 of the 8 finalists including the winner of 2004 San Jose Improv "Battle of the Bay", 4 of the 7 finalists including the winner of 2003 San Jose Improv "Battle of the Bay", 4 of the 8 finalists including the winner of 2003 Rooster T Feathers "New Talent Contest", the 2nd and 4th place finishers in the 2004 Rooster T Feathers "New Talent Contest", the Winner and the 4th place finisher of the 2005 Rooster T Feathers "New Talent Contest" and the winner of the 2004 NYNCA "She's so Funny" Womens Comedy Contest. In addition to being one of the finest (Top 3) stand-up comedy schools in America, we pride ourselves in our effective team building, communication and creativity seminars designed for the corporate environment. Our students are CEOs, Open Mikers, Project managers, Middle acts, Sales Managers, Headliners, Housewives and Mr. Moms. Becoming adept at humor or Stand-up comedy takes time and the SFCC provides an accelerated real world environment in which to grow. The SF Comedy College provides no particular mold for what is funny, which is why none of our students sound the same. Every student finds and defines their own comedic voices in our classes. We are proud of our proven track record. All classes come with a Money Back Guarantee and we encourage you to ask working comedy professionals about us. Many of our clients have studied with us since our inception and continue to refine their comedic perspectives as we work together to make their humor more personal and their comedy or corporate careers more fulfilling. We make no exaggerated claims to what we offer. Your success is defined by you and will depend upon your own commitment. All we do is offer the best network of performance spaces in the Bay Area and access to the most competent humor and comedy professionals in the nation to compliment your growth. The San Francisco Comedy College is a run by students, professional comedians, comedy club and theatre personnel with the express purpose of creating exceptional funny people and bringing more humor to all corners of the earth. The staff of the SF Comedy College offers 100+ years of stand-up, improvisation, public speaking and corporate experience. We challenge you to find a comedy school that has more teaching experience, stage accomplishments, or television credits.
Who I'd like to meet:
Find out what we already know: you can be funny too! Ask questions, refuse to believe that being funny can be taught, get some great advice, don't sign up for class and leave us to wonder what is wrong with you???? (Beginner) Technique Workshop The journey of a thousand smelly TV shows, clubs or speaking gigs begins with your first bad joke! Perfect for everyone including would be comedians, speakers and corporate types. (Advanced) Performance Workshop This group workshop decreases your unreasonable fears of appearing in public and exponentially increases your material generation and growth as a performer. Immersion to the craft in front of an audience is the quickest way to becoming funny. Stand up comedy is about being funny in front of people and the best open mics in the business occur in front of an instructor and other funny people who are writing material for you! This is great place to become more adept at being hilarious in front of people quickly! Note: Drop in guests to SFCC advanced classes have included Lewis Black, Kevin Nealon, Brian Regan, David Brenner, Christopher Titus, Maria Bamford, Jeff Jena, John Pinette, Tom Mctigue, Bob Zany, Craig Shoemaker and many others. It's just another reason that we may be the best comedy school in America. Working Comedians Workshop This course is the highest level of service that we offer for the professional comedian. This ongoing workshop offers hands-on week to week management of a comedy career. Comedians define their goals and are given weekly assignments and exercises. A network of club gigs are provided and your progress is monitored by the Instructors and bookers of the gigs. This workshop is a combination of public performances, private writing sessions, group performances and one-on-one meetings. We cover specific booker and club politics, etiquette, promo packages, managers, agents, LA, NY, Midwest, TV, Cruises, Warm Up ... Membership requirements are one year of study from the Comedy College Advanced classes, A working promo package and 25 minutes of original material. OR If you have never worked with us the requirements are the following: 1. Verifiable References from working comedians or bookers 2. You have been booked and paid in any position at an A or B level club. Currently, these classes are only offered on Monday afternoons in San Francisco. Intensive Workshops The five-week Technique Workshop packed into one weekend. Perfect for corporate types, touring comedians, busy people and out- of-town students. Of course, if you are never coming to SF or are imprisoned on the circular comedy road or in South Guam ... the free 1 on 1 consultation might be perfect for you.
