About me:
Word Up: The San Francisco Slam is the current incarnation of one of the nations preeminant poetry events. Held on the second Tuesday of each month at Bistro Yoffi, the Marina Districts coolest and coziest, snazzy and jazziest nightspot and hosted by smooth jazzman L. Abdul Kenyatta, you're likely to find anyone from a notorious beat poet, to a member of a championship slam team to sultry songstress bleesing the mic.
The next show, on July 11th, will feature 5 of the regions Slam Teams going head 2 head in a nationals style "bout". This is one in a series of warm-up competitions called B.o.B.s (Battles of the Bay). Each team will host a bob, but only one will come away with a years worth of bragging rights! Will it be YOUR team San Francisco?
