"Hierarchy, dominance and submission, repression and power - these are facts of everyday life. Revolution is a process, and even the eradication of coercive institutions will not automatically create a liberatory society. We create that society by building new institutions, by changing the character of our social relationships, by changing ourselves - and throughout that process by changing the distribution of power in society. It is by the constant building of new forms of organization, by the continual critical evaluation of our successes and failures, that we prevent old ideas and old forms of organization from re-emerging."
    - Carol and Howard J. Ehrlich

"I tell you about the animals - how they suffer how they die, you try to hide guilty doubt - from me with an appeasing smile, you never want responsibility - for this murderous cruelty, the wasteful piles of blood-soaked bodies - you won't let your conscience see. Ask yourself what makes you want this - torn ripped flesh so desperately, are you worthy of having this suffering - brought about to fuel your greed??? Not satisfied with killing animals - you're killing millions of people as well, as the numbers increase of those dying - in your man made 3rd World Hell. Millions dying all the time - locked in your abbatoir of greed, whilst you destroy them + yourself - by taking much more than you need, there is no justice in this death - no illusion I'll let you hide behind, the tradition you use to hide animal murder - is nothing but a thin disguise."
    - "Pig in a blanket" by Rudimentary Peni

"How dare you turn a space meant to be about unity into a place that reflects the same old problems we face in society? You claim that there is equality, but have you asked the ones effected by your misogyny? No. There is no excuses for creating an environment where our sisters are made to feel self conscious, insecure, disrespected. Constantly having to prove herself, faced with skepticism and doubt. Being judged twice as hard, ignored but having so much heart. Or, cat calls--humiliating! Being grabbed at--so degrading! For everyone who believes in equality STAND WITH US. For everyone opposed to patriarchy STAND WITH US. Sexism comes in more forms than just violence and rape; certain attitudes and words can alienate. Gender's as arbitrary as race, no tolerance for discrimination in our scene. There's still a need for feminism, there was never any liberation. Given freedom to be consumerists is not a radical movement. And it may not be "cool" to stand against the crowd, DON'T LET THAT HOLD YOU DOWN. Punk is about doing what's right even if it means going against tha majority. This is not just a womyn's issue, it's time for boys and girls alike to take control of this matter, don't stand on the side in this fight. Not one good reason for this sense of exclusion. How did these traditional wiews get inside and start running the shows here too? Let's FORCE THEM OUT!"

Straight From The Inside is a do-it-yourself collective from Bulgaria. At the beginning we were inspired by zines such as Profane Existence, HeartattaCk, Inside Front etc. and we wanted to start a printed magazine about political hardcore punk, animal rights etc. But after a lot of problems with finding a good layout and print designer for the printed zine we decided to focus more on the webzine we eventually started. In 2006 we started a printed zine in CrimethInc. style called Katarzis, which is still an active project and in 2007 we were involved in organising shows at a place called Ecotopia in Razgrad, also involved in projects such as Free Festivals (in Sofia and Razgrad), Food Not Bombs, accoustic punk band called Black Cat Collective and other interesting things :)

We're also a DIY hardcore label and non-profit zine distro.
