San Francisco Urban Iditarod sled dog race (MPEG-2 version)
12th annual San Francisco Urban Iditarod ( Idiotarod ?) sled dog race. Part of Joe Devlin's "They're Off" series of unusual races. Almost 600 costumed people, divided into various "breeds" of dogs and mushers race almost 4 miles up and down the streets of San Francisco trailing careening shopping cart/dog sleds.

About me: PLEASE NOTE The San Francisco Urban Iditarod will be postponed until later in March or Early April. Please do not show up this Saturday, March 10th.
After a much appreciated and productive meeting with the SFPD, El Perro Grande is proud to announce that the race will not be canceled but will be run at a later date.
Stayed tuned for further details. The NEW date will be set AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
Please note, a $5.00 donation per person will be collected to cover operation expenses. Any additional monies left over will be donated to a local charity.
