the shackrats formed in russellville, ar in 1999 by richard burnett. orig. lineup included richard on guitar and vocals, richard’s cuz brian burnett on drums, jimmy jack flash on bass, and caleb hawkins on guitar. phillip eubanks came shortly after at first just to play harmonica, then guitar after caleb quit. then jimmy backed out due to mounting illness, all before the first gig. when the first gig came richard and phillip found an old friend butch taylor in the guitar shop buying drum stix or something and ask him if he could play bass at a party in a couple of days, he agreed and we tought him the songs the night before , settled on the band name and played a bachlor party for a good friend (he got devorced in a year...not our fault though) since then the lineup stayed the same other than 7 drummers (i think) which include adam miller, holly green, jamie heffington, then we moved to fayetteville and got jonathan taylor who played from 2000-2002 then he got back with the group he was with before who is now called BEN.BEN. well after that for a few months the shackrat drummer was nate bazinet who now plays in a punk rock group called well well well . then filling that place in the drum chair to this very day is nate higgins. and chuck brouliette has been playing harmonica since close to the beginning to though lives in little rock and doesnt make it to most shows. paul burnham played keybords from 2002-2003
