It all started long ago on one stormy night...........
Roly Dymond and Ben Brewer aged 13 and 14 started playing in Rolys Granny flat about 10 years ago.
The band at this point consisted of only the most expensive equipment:
* One 3 piece drum kit in "magic blue"
* One black guitar (borrowed) - brand unknown
* A computer mic cunningly taped to a punch bag stand
* Two 10 Watt amps – one for vocals and one for guitar
As far as memories can remember ‘Come As You Are' by Nirvana was the first song played by Shaded Noise, probably closely followed by ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit' and ‘Rape Me'!! They stuck at practicing together for months until one day their day of fame came…………..
Venue – Beer sailing club Event – Annual sailing club party and BBQ Time – Before bed time Date – Summer Weather Conditions – Sunny with a light easterly breeze
The show was a hit and they found themselves playing again the next morning for a school fund raising do - not exactly rock n' roll but come on!!
As the days went by Shaded Noise plucked out their own songs establishing their ‘own sound'.
Time passed and Shaded Noise needed to build their already fast moving empire of sound…………. but what?? ………A new member???….. YES!!!………… but who???.………… Adam Brewer was the lucky guy – naturally he had to be bullied into playing the Bass to make up the complete Shaded Noise sound. The band was complete and sounds from the new established Sunnybank studios were broadcasted across Beer and East Devon
They seemed to be doing gig after gig for about 3 or 4 years until slowly members left for Uni and gigs were limited to Christmas and summer normally with zero practice but they adopted the theory of ‘it'll be alright on the night' and ‘fuck it, they (the audience) will be drunk'.
The noise lives on…………. Recording is still being done in studios worldwide (UK, Australia, Abu Dhabi) to complete the first album titled “No Plan, No Sleeves”.

We would like to thank all the bands who supported Coombeshead Studios during 2007. It was our busiest year ever at just short of 100 bands, and allowed us to spend several thousand pounds on some major upgrades, launching us from a low budget studio to a fully professional setup. We continue to offer our low budget prices but offer a greater flexibility of control and greatly improved quality!
