Thanks, Brady, for the photo comment. That particular storm took place last year and dropped some nickel-sized hail. The photo above, was from a storm in Ranchita, CA on 8-12-90, where some stones measured 2 inches in diameter. Believe it or not, we occasionally get some "real" weather in California. Of course, you do much better in Minnesota! ~John

lol I saw that as well...I know the models kept showing that elevated instability was going to surge north toward our area last evening which it did...But we just didn't get any surface warming to occur. I saw 1 flash of lightning here in town around 8 PM and I heard 2 rumbles of thunder...lol pretty good considering how cold it was last night! My work schedule has been so f'd up the past few months...they have me bouncing around from an 8pm-1:15am shift to my usual 10pm-6am shift. I hate it! I wish they would just keep me on that 10pm shift...I prefer that one over the other one. I wanna quit, but I can't yet until I find a new job.
I'm guessing u love this time of year as much as I do!! I CAN'T WAIT until a Blue Jays game is aired! Baseball + NHL playoffs in 9 days...it just don't get any better than that! =). I'd so love to say screw finals and just sit around watching sports all day and night lol
lol hello Brady...Here I thought maybe you fled Duluth and went elsewhere for the Winter... This Winter can end anytime, man has it been a cold one! I don't mind the snow so much, but the extreme cold we had was just way too much! Hopefully will get a nice active Spring/Summer so we can get out and do some chasing!

Hello Brady! I tried textn ya last Tuesday when that storm rolled thru, but my text didn't go thru... One lightning bolt almost got me as i was standing out on the deck and holy crap i could hear the cracking sound from the lightning-scared the you know what out of me-it was very awesome though-lol.. I'm really liking that stormchasers show, it's awesome! Reed is the man! Hopefully next year we can get out more, i say lets just go-lol.. But of course will have to watch the money situation, but will see what happens.. Hope all is well.. take care

Hi Brady, hey i did see a photo of the waterspout that occurred on Lake Superior last Friday...The pic i saw was on the Channel 10 news last Friday Night, looked pretty cool! Boy it sure looks like it's going to get cold around here by Sunday, maybe even a touch of snow.. I find it interesting that the Climate Prediction Center is calling for a 50% chance that will have above normal temps from November thru January...hmm.. take care
