Shadowboxer started with Jonathan Wood, writing the songs, recording the music, and then starting the band. Playing and recording since 2004. Jonathan recorded the songs in his room on his computer and kept working on them till he decided to go to the studio and record them. For the demo, the songs were chosen and recorded in this order: 1) A Distant Memory 2) Happy Valentines Day 3) Schitzophrenia 4) Better Off (written during the recording of 1-3) 5) Awakening 6) Black Opera (not even suppost to be recorded) The demo was recorded with Jonathan on the guitars and vocals, Ronnie Wood (Jonathan's Dad) on bass and lead guitar on Awakening, and Ethan a drummer we hired to play on the demo.
After the demo, Jonathan got Dale Martin to join with drums, and Phil Rynerson on bass. Dale, amazingly started on Rock Band equipment and after seeing how good he was on that, was quickly asked to attempt drums which he grasped quickly and has been learning ever since. Phil along with Dale have been playing since only May 2008. Phil has a background in music from band, he started out knowing little of bass and some simple chords on guitar. After two months the band has been practicing, working on songs, and now posting them along with video's. Right now we are working on more songs to get finished, clean, and soon shows. When we get them we'll let you know. We appreciate all support we recieve and hope you like the music. Also, comment. We love feedback!!!
