    Shadows Like The Day sind eine Band aus dem deutschsprachigen Raum, genauer ausgedrückt aus Mülheim an der Ruhr. Gegründet wurde die Band 1997 von Sänger Marvin und Gitarrist Oliver. Im Gründungsjahr stieß Schlagzeuger Alexander dazu. Komplett waren sie 1999 mit Bassist Mark. Anfänglich war der Musikstil dem Crossover und Hardrock (noch mit englischen Texten) zuzuordnen. 2002 begann die Band deutsche Texte zu schreiben, was eine Veränderung des Musikstils zur Folge hatte. Im Laufe der zehnjährigen Bandgeschichte entstanden diverse Alben unterschiedlicher Art und Weise in Eigenregie. 2009 fand die Band zurück zu Ihren Wurzeln und kreierte ihr Album erstes offizielles Studio-Album (alternativer Rock mit progressivem Einschlag) . Inhaltlich sind die Texte von Shadows Like The Day nachdenklich und melancholisch.
