   About Shadow Thieves
Formed in late 1997 after the disillusion of the band Murmur, siblings Chris Gunter and Jeremy Gunter began work on 8 songs that would become the bulk of the bands 2003 debut Nocturne. "Blacklight Rain and Whore were tracks that had been written in 1995 with no real plans as to how they would be released," excerpt from interview w/Chris Gunter. "London After Midnight" was the first collaborative effort for the duo and subsequent numbers like "At Close Of Day" and "Amity Street" soon followed showcasing the unique diversity of songwriting skills that would would help the band develop it's approach towards conceptualising each track as it's own seperate identity rather than developing a "style" or signature sound. The band entered Clayton Studios (St. Louis) in late 1999 to begin tracking sessions for the as yet unnamed project. "We didn't even have a name for the band yet, just the finished songs and specific ideas as to what we wanted the finished takes to sound like" remarked Jeremy looking back on the year that it took to record all of the tracks. Adam Long was brought in to engineer and co produce the sessions at Clayton, "Adam was already an accomplished and highly sought after local producer that really helped us achieve the sounds of each track as we'd invisioned them to be". Subsequent mixing was finished at Clayton in 2000 and the mastering was done the following year in Nashville by record industry veteran Benny Quinn who's work includes artists Widespread Panic. In 2006 the duo once again went back into the studios to begin the sessions that would yeild their sophmore offering Framing the Endless Sky with producer and engineer Ken Keller who's work has included sessions with such legendary producers such as Jim Dickinson and Tom Dowd. The 15 tracks were recorded, mixed and mastered over the course of a year and a half at IBS Studios. The CD was released Feb 16, 2008. Band personnel: Christopher Gunter- Lead Vocals and Guitars Jeremy Gunter- Drums George Dordoni-Bass Guitar

The artists must be sacrificed to their art. Like the bees, they must put their lives into the sting they give. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

We wash with moonlit hands
On the shores of our island
We never know, we never know
We sleep in satin nights
Throwing energy in silver curves
In twilight
