Formed in February 2003, the Shadyside Allstars have persistently risen above the stale expectations of music lovers as they offer an inimitable approach to live performance. Their songwriting sensibilities merge melody, technicality and an infectious atmosphere inciting citizens to stand up and take notice. Charles Tidd of the IUPUI Sagamore agrees stating, "The sound is full of rich, warm guitar tones that favor the Allman Brothers and Santana; the three-piece rhythm section drives a thick groove that is tight and relentless." The Allstars shed the myth that inflections captured in the studio need be performed note for note, night after night.
Shadyside employs this proficiency capturing the audiences attention through solid structure and vibrant improvisation. Known for well-rehearsed stage performances, the Allstars simultaneously astonish crowds with unpredicted melodies, harmonies and rhythm-based jams. Kristen Leep of Indianapolis Music.Net writes, "They are a talented, feel-good band that write strong songs, improvise well, but always a have a focus." This funky, jam band momentum sparks rapport with multitudes of enthusiastic, energetic listeners. As spontaneous melodies soar over rooted grooves, the Allstars purpose prevails: a fan base grows.
As attested by their schedule, the Allstars are currently working to promote themselves throughout the Midwest. Whether participating in conferences, charity events or festivals, Shadyside remains diligent in disseminating its merchandise of good times and great music. Yo Shadyside Allstarsasaurus. I just found out that we're related...and as a special family only present we've made a new song for you called "End of Days" (start doing backflips now). It's an epic instrumental opus to the moment when our ancient Dino relatives saw a large fiery object plummeting towards them. Please come to our page, give it a listen and let us know if it makes you feel like something catastrophic is gonna happen. If the song upsets you too much we will be holding several s support groups (read: comcerts) in the near future. Check our page for locations, dates and times.

Was awesome to meet you dudes tonight, thanks very much for stopping by. You guys are freakin' hilarious! Haha, hope we can book something very soon. There's a date open in mid-Nov., a charity event for the JR. Diabetes Research Foundation at the UGLY MONKEY. And/or, there might be a HALLOWEEN night show open if you're interested. It will be a hip-hop, rock, experimental type of thing. Would love to get you out for that. Peace guys, have a terrific week....
Regarding Sept. 12th: My sincere apologies, please read my latest blog
entry and contact me if you have further questions. I tried very hard
to make this work, but unfortunately...
I still very much hope to see you out on Sept. 12th at SI GREENES
for a great time, chance to promote, network, and support the local
scene. It's now a mega-musician's-meet-up, and the first rounds on me!
We're still raising funds for the Circle City Toy Run, and your music will still be showcased throughout the night via recordings. Please bring demos and CD's to sell! INDY IN-TUNE will be involved with live podcasting and interviews, so we're holding a VIP party in your honor!
Pool tables, darts, big screen TV's, free food and drink, you can't lose....!!! 7pm - 2am at SI GREENES, a mega musician's meet-up, paying respects for your work and talent.
There will be a good CROWD, but now we're just having a laid-back party
type of thing, dedicated to all the bands and performers originally
scheduled for this gig. Just think of it as an early, or late, birthday
present. Still plan on coming out if you can!!! 7pm - 2am at SI GREENE'S PUB, yep...!
Believe me, with such short notice and only weeks left, I did not want
to change venues from ZANIES TOO to another location. But left with no
other moral choice, and after being adequately screwed over by that
venue for the past several months, I felt for the sake of general
goodness and positive vibrations to MOVE THIS SEPTEMBER 12th event to a new location. I believe it's more "professional" of me to move the venue, than to move the date.
And that new location is SI GREENE'S PUB! on E. 10th street, only 2
minutes away from ZANIES, the original venue! You'll like their new
stage, lighting and set up, as they are freshly geared towards
showcasing live music every weekend and looking to book! There's plenty
of space so plan on coming out to support the club's dynamic new
appearance, and help kick off their desire to be the hottest live music
venue on the east side!
Located in historic IRVINGTON.
SHADYSIDE ALLSTARS are slated for 11pm. If a representative from the band could try
and be there at least one hour early, that would be excellent! If there
has been a change or cancellation on your part, please let me know as
soon as possible so I can try to fill in the spots. 30 minute sets per band
would be optimum. Tell your friends, neighbors, family and complete
strangers! Thanks very much, and looking forward to rocking with you!
