I also enjoy baseball, though I can't watch it for too long without wanting to play. | | Music | In no particular order: Shane & Shane, Shawn McDonald, Third Day, Dave Matthews Band, Jeremy Camp, Ten Shekel Shirt, TaNTrum (sorry about that Terry), Lauryn Hill, Tim McGraw, Mindy Smith, Switchfoot, Keith Urban, Rascall Flats, most things classical (Beethoven, Bach, Pachelbel's Canon, Mozart, Handel, etc.), Bob Marley, Counting Crows, Jack Johnson, Jars of Clay, Kanye West, Kelly Clarkson (I'm a little embarrased about that one), Louis Armstrong, Nappy Roots, Norah Jones, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Repeat Repeat (yeah Brandon and Fernelly!), and others. | | Movies | The Lord of the Rings Extended Editions (they're the ones that tell the whole story), The Fifth Element, The Passion of the Christ (though it's a painful one to watch), You've Got Mail, The Emperor's New Groove, Princess Bride (yeah Amanda!), et al. | | Television | We don't have cable and aren't ever planning on getting it, we just have the good ol' rabbit ears :) Though I must confess that we've gotten hooked on Lost. | | Books | The Bible--the book that contains the very words of God spoken through human agents. J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, anything by C.S. Lewis--I think he and I would have been friends if we had ever met, Orson Scott Card's Ender Series, Wayne Grudem's Systematic Theology, The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky--call me crazy but I love Russian literature, everything by Shakespeare but especially Hamlet and King Lear, The Crown of Stars series by Kate Elliott, lots of fantasy and science fiction and tons of others. | | Heroes | Jesus, because His wounds have paid my ransom. Paul, because his life was a testimony of God's grace and the Holy Spirit inspired him to write letters that changed the face of the world. My dad, because he models the right way to love and cherish your wife--a lesson I hope I have learned. All those who have given and will give their lives for the sake of the gospel, starting with Stephen and continuing until the day Christ returns. |
