General
Shakespeare, Anything artistic and creative- Sewing painting, drawing, sculpting, ceramics, water gardening, cake decorating, writing, star gazing, art modeling, alternative/holistic health, foreign cultures, hosting exchange students, Spending time with my kids and grandkids.
Music
My taste in music is very eclectic. Most of what I listen to is Arabic- classical songs, master musicians, grand orchestrations.
I also listen to other Middle Eastern music, Jazz, classical, rock 'n roll, broadway musicals, country/western, new age, various types of world music.

I don't care for music that sounds the same all the way through. I prefer highs and lows, rhythmical and tempo variations, mood changes. I want to feel a whole range of emothion in a piece of music.

Television
I have never owned a TV in my adult life, but I love old movies- especially ones with lots of dancing.
Books
Too many! I have to cut myself off from reading because once I pick up a book I don't put it down until I finish it. The world could crumble around me and I would not even notice.
A few favorite authors are Barbara Kingsolver, Alexander Dumas, Edmond Rostand, Victor Hugo, Dr Seuss, Fannie Flagg, Shakespeare.
About me: I am a passionate performer and instructor of Bellydance in the Western Sububrbs of Chicago. My primary focus is Raks Sharqi, but I am an artist of many faces. I additionally study other forms of dance as time and opportunity permit. Ballet, Jazz, dance theater, modern, hip-hop, Various fusions of the above.
I also love to paint and dye silk for veils scarves and costumes, and I teach silk dying workshops several times a year.
I find expression in the form of writing poetry and reading the poetry of others. You can read some of my poems on my web site
