shake & stir theatre co is the newest professional youth theatre company in South East Queensland and in such a relatively short time span has created quite the stir indeed!
Incorporated in early 2006, shake & stir was founded to provide quality theatre-in-education, performances that both entertained and educated students’ in a unique and contemporary style. In doing so, it was the first theatre company to offer an Introduction to Shakespeare production created for primary school students.
Since its inception, shake & stir has developed into a comprehensive youth theatre company offering fully tour-able productions to both primary and secondary schools; a thriving afterschool drama program catering for over 300 students weekly and a production company dedicated to developing, directing and staging inspiring theatre for both the young and the young at heart.

2008 saw shake & stir theatre co continue and increase its extremely successful schools performances with each production being accredited by Education Queensland. To keep up with demand, the co opened extra locations for their after school drama programs. They performed and hosted the inaugural Italian Children’s Festival and the crew traveled to Far North Queensland to facilitate youth Shakespeare workshops and perform the World Premiere of their production STATESPEARE as part of Festival Cairns. shake & stir even managed to squeeze in some acting classes for JUTE’s Education Division. In late 2008, shake & stir were Guest Directors for the 2nd Year Acting students at the University of Southern Queensland, Toowoomba where they devised and directed three original touring productions.
In 2009, shake & stir expand their theatre-in-education repertoire yet again with the introduction of three new productions to make a total of nine and in May the company will co-produce their production of STATESPEARE with La Boite Theatre Company at the Roundhouse Theatre.

Hey! I saw you guys at Pacific Pines State School. You guys did "Macbeth" I have to say, you guys were AMAZING i was capticated on you guys the whole time! AMAZING. I'm an aspiring actress myself. have you got any advice? I've been doing drama classes for 5 years now, and i feel I'm ready to get out there and perform. any tips?

hey. its been a while but its eddy who won the comp to come see the show. i met nelly and i think it was ros, i met those guys at a thai resturant. if u guys ever need a kid to do a performence then i have LOTS of experience and would love to do it. tap back. eddy
haha yeah. it was great. i related to the characters so much. im in year 12 drama and am going through all the stress of assesment and stuff so i could laugh knowing that is me.
it really inspired me to open up my life to acting, and shakespear. i am really interested in him at the moment so that really started something. you guys are too cool :P
Shake and stir company ur performance was so good that i actually want to see it again and usually its really hgard to drag me back from those things anyways yer i wouldn't joining the company it sounds like fun as well keep on goin and giving ur best in every perormance :)
hey there well i went to see your Statespeare performance with my school last tuesday, and i thought supprisingly it was really good. i loved the Jay and Rob characters because of the change of personality they had all through the show, i thought it was really great. i would love to join the 'Shake and Stir'theatre company what would be involved?? the workshop afterwards was heaps of fun, you prob dont remember but Nelle was great help with getting the Macbeth Mello dramatic soap opera right with me and my friend :P bye Olivia xox
hey guys your statespeare performance was awesome :) as was your i loathe thee performance at our school. please come to kenmore state high again! Another school that you should check out is, Q.A.C.I. (no we're not ducks) actually, you know what? dont bother. just rock up to kenmore and that'll be fine. (sorry that was my sister who has a brain problem. she thinks she's zac efron) but anywho, Queensland Academy of Creative INdustries. check us out. (not in a creepy way but you get my drift yeah, whatever weirdo. anywho; like i said earlier, your performance was really great, check both schools out :) and sorry about the whole two people speaking thing...
