shake & stir theatre co is the newest professional youth theatre company in South East Queensland and in such a relatively short time span has created quite the stir indeed!
Incorporated in early 2006, shake & stir was founded to provide quality theatre-in-education, performances that both entertained and educated students’ in a unique and contemporary style. In doing so, it was the first theatre company to offer an Introduction to Shakespeare production created for primary school students.
Since its inception, shake & stir has developed into a comprehensive youth theatre company offering fully tour-able productions to both primary and secondary schools; a thriving afterschool drama program catering for over 300 students weekly and a production company dedicated to developing, directing and staging inspiring theatre for both the young and the young at heart.

2008 saw shake & stir theatre co continue and increase its extremely successful schools performances with each production being accredited by Education Queensland. To keep up with demand, the co opened extra locations for their after school drama programs. They performed and hosted the inaugural Italian Children’s Festival and the crew traveled to Far North Queensland to facilitate youth Shakespeare workshops and perform the World Premiere of their production STATESPEARE as part of Festival Cairns. shake & stir even managed to squeeze in some acting classes for JUTE’s Education Division. In late 2008, shake & stir were Guest Directors for the 2nd Year Acting students at the University of Southern Queensland, Toowoomba where they devised and directed three original touring productions.
In 2009, shake & stir expand their theatre-in-education repertoire yet again with the introduction of three new productions to make a total of nine and in May the company will co-produce their production of STATESPEARE with La Boite Theatre Company at the Roundhouse Theatre.

Hey guys, I currently have a drama assignment i am completeing. It is an oral about ' I crave Myspace, And Other Cyber Adventers'. Part of it requires a powerpoint, anyways, i was just wondering, is it possible for me to use a few photos on my powerpoint? or will that get me in trouble for copyright?? Of course i will not use them for anythign eles except this powerpoint, and if i need to i will put a copyright sign underneath each photo i use. thanks guys. Markayla

Thank you for replying guys! The December work shop sounds so exciting! Hopefully I can make it, but how does the payment work? Do we pay afterwards, on the day or before the day? I think this workshop in December will be my Christmas present off my mother hehe :) and I'll be waiting for a Greenroom reply :) Btw, when you came to my school to do Macbeth in 50 minutes, it was brilliant! I adore Shakespeare so I was happy to see it!

Hay everyone at Shake and Stir :) I just wanted to say what an inspiration you guys are to me. Nick, Ross and Mel, you guys came to my school yesterday.St Andrews and being a drama/Acting freak myself just made me love acting even more, if that is humanily possible :) Your preformances were amazing and i hope to one day join you guys on stage in the future :D
