   Andrea's Blurbs
About me:
Easily amused, hard to impress. Have expensive taste, but hardly ever pay retail. Enjoy exploring what makes other people tick, tend to keep my own ticks to myself (though, I'm learning to share more... sometimes too much). Love a good competition, despise game playas. Enthusiastic about driving (even getting lost), but being late tries my patience. Hate being the center of attention, love holding the spotlight. Cherish my personal space, still take pleasure in sharing what I have been blessed with. Believe that self-exploration is equally as important as the exploration of others. Perfectionist (to a fault), but I'm working on that. Cynical, but not hopeless. Want more for others than they generally want for themselves. Very casual, painfully honest, and absolutely unstoppable.

Have taken the time, made the effort, and am finally "comfortable in my own skin." I'd highly recommend it.

Oh, and if you ever want to know what I think about something... just ask. I'm not always one to offer up the info voluntarily, but if you want to know, I'm more than willing to share. Few things are sacred, and no subject is off limits...

Quotable Quotes:
"If the misery of the poor be caused not by the laws of nature, but by our institutions, great is our sin." Charles Darwin

"Don't carry a grudge. While you're carrying the grudge, the other guy's out dancing." - Buddy Hackett

"No man, for any considerable period, can wear one face to himself and another to the multitude, without finally getting bewildered as to which may be true." - Nathaniel Hawthorne

"It is difficult to make a man miserable while he feels worthy of himself and claims kindred to the great God who made him." - Abraham Lincoln

"But if you do not find an intelligent companion, a wise and well-behaved person going the same way as yourself, then go on your way alone, like a king abandoning a conquered kingdom, or like a great elephant in the deep forest." - Buddha

"It's a virus that our society has, that the only reason to do things is because you are going to get famous." - Douglas Repetto, founder of Dorkbot

"A friend may well be reckoned the masterpiece of nature." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Absence from those we love is self from self - a deadly banishment." - William Shakespeare

"Life loves to be taken by the lapel and told, 'I'm with you kid. Let's go.'" - Maya Angelou

"You can tell whether a man is clever by his answers. You can tell whether a man is wise by his questions." — Naguib Mahfouz

"Those Who Sacrifice Liberty For Security Deserve Neither." - Ben Franklin

"To fear love is to fear life, and those who fear life are already three parts dead." - Bertrand Russell

"Perhaps the feelings that we experience when we are in love represent a normal state. Being in love shows a person who he should be." - Anton Chekhov

"Forgiveness is an act of the will, and the will can function regardless of the temperature of the heart." - Corrie Ten Boom

"Sometimes, when you cry, no one sees your tears ....
Sometimes, when you are worried, no one feels your pain...
Sometimes, when you are happy, no one notices your smile...
...but fart just one time..." - Unknown

"Respect your efforts, respect yourself. Self-respect leads to self-discipline. When you have both firmly under your belt, that's real power." - Clint Eastwood

"Love seems the swiftest, but it is the slowest of all growths. No man or woman really knows what perfect love is until they have been married a quarter of a century." - Mark Twain

"Reflect on your present blessings, of which every man has many; not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some." - Charles Dickens

"I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing." - Agatha Christie

"No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another." - Charles Dickens

"The fatal metaphor of progress, which means leaving things behind us, has utterly obscured the real idea of growth, which means leaving things inside us." - Gilbert Chesterton

"To have a right to do a thing is not at all the same as to be right in doing it." - Gilbert Chesterton

"Friends should be weighed, not told; who boasts to have won a multitude of friends has never had one." - Samuel Taylor Coleridge

"The greatest mistake you can make in life is continually fearing you will make one." - Elbert Hubbard

Who I'd like to meet:
Adventure-seekers, conversationalists, "foodies", people with lots of photos on their page... and folks with more than one hobby/interest - they're a lot more interesting to talk to. :)

Who I don't want to meet: People that tell you one thing, mean the exact opposite, then hold the fact that you believed what they actually said against you. Such a waste...
