HOLLA' AT CHA' GIRL AT www.myspace.com/shakina22 OR www.reverbnation.com/shakinashustle Objective: To create a music that no one has ever heard but everyone can relate to Goal: To exceed high limits, get my fam out the hood and be one of the most inspirational r&b artist's in history. Tupac Shakur once said.... "I may not be able to change the world, but I guarantee I'll be the one who sparks the brain of the one who changes the world" I admire that saying because he has proved himself by sparking the brains of young people including myself. To gain knowledge from this man was a gifted privilege. Although he isn't the only icon I admire in this game professionally, he is the greatest. Why I chose this path... I began pursuing my music career in my early teenage years. I've been singing as long as I can remember. During the course of my troubled life I'd always find the time to involve myself in music. I did almost everything from singing in talent shows to visiting "American Idol". I never lost a competition or failed to go to the next round. I began to meet people. I began to learn the game and what it took to actually get heard and succeed in making some kind of change. Set backs would corrupt my futuristic thoughts at times but each time I'd get back up and go at my dreams a little more harder. At times I felt like giving up, and I did for the moment but I began having children at 16 whom I didn't want living the same life I did so I pushed harder. Things got worse when I lost my parents but still, I pushed harder. My thoughts are that I chose this path because it happens to contain a talent that I have which can create a different lifestyle for me and my family. That's not the reason I chose this path though. I chose this path because my experiences are someone else's. I write these experiences on paper for analyzation purposes. I sing them to free myself from anything that has or is happening in my life which acts as a set back. I chose this path because this path allows differences to made. It allows me to express myself diligently so that anyone who is in clear hearing point of my voice and actually take time to listen to my words will have an understanding, a respect, and a feel of what I say. This path was chosen in great recognition of those who said I couldn't do it. This path was chosen because during my journey I ran into gold doors of opportunity; pushed them open and got a step closer to where I need to be.
