The things I love most are my family, poetry (both reading and writing it), music/singing, old classic tv and movies, walks in the rain, carousels, and yellow roses. I collect carousels & carousel horses. I also do alot of crafts including sewing, crocheting, painting & scrapbooking. In my ebay store (The Peppermint Boutique) I make and sell custom bridal accessories and little girls dresses sizes 12 months to 6X.

Music
I love ALL music: listening to it, singing it, writing lyrics. I just LOVE MUSIC!!! I even like rap....But if I had to choose my favorites they would be classic rock, oldies, blues/motown. I also love to sing country
Movies
I like mostly heartfelt drama and comedy drama and yes romantic movies.
Pay It Foward and Drangonfly are at the top of my list. I also love the oldies 'Gone with the wind', Doris Days 'Calamity Jane' and many other old classics.

I never miss American Idol. I love Greys Anatomy. Everybody Loves Raymond. The Gilmore Girls, and I love Lucy re-runs are high on my list as well.
I do not care for reality shows too much (well except for Idol) that is.

About me: If you have read any of my POETRY you know by now that I shoot straight from the heart. I write mostly short pieces in lyrical verse form and limericks. I love to read free verse but rarely write it. I do not read romance novels because I would much rather read a book of poetry or a good mystery. I do not write erotica and do not care to read it. ***************** I get the name Shallimar Rose from 'shalimar' my favorite perfume and 'Rose' my mothers name. My real name, Barbara Ann is so old school that I was actually named after a loaf of bread. Anyone remember the old Barbara Ann bakeries??? probably not. Well anyway I just always thought Shallimar Rose would make a really pretty name. In real life though I am still just plain old Barbara, some people call me Barb. I was born in Bronx New York but have lived most of my life in the deserts of Southern California. My husband Stan (Blue Angel on my freinds list) and I met when I was shopping in the grocery store where he worked. He would juggle jars of baby food to get my attention, lol... I guess it worked. We have been married almost 34 years and still going strong. What is our secret? I don't know but we must be doing something right. I am the mother of 5 wonderful children and have eleven grandchildren. That's right, eleven. Besides being a grandma the things I love most are reading and writing poetry, singing, walking in the rain, long walks on the beach, riding on carousels and yellow roses. ******************

I feel exhausted. I've calling everywhere. The hospitals only help if the child's is admitted. Ronald McDonald is for families of a ped. cancer patient. Make-A-Wish only helps with wishes, nothing to do with medical. Kaelan was a Make-A-Wish kid. They didn't know of anyone to refer me to either. It's amazing how much help is out there for kids with cancer but nothing out there for kids with other illnesses, esp. terminal illnesses. Now if Kaelan (15yrs. old) was having his heart transplant then it's different. That hospital "may" be able to help. The hotels helped by giving me a "hospital" rate but it's still not cheap to stay near the hospital. Coming up with "The Kaelan Fund" here on MySpace was the only thing I could think of to help. Sheila A, a poetic friend here on MySpace, has sent out a donation on friday. I have to raise $3000 and I've received 1 donation. I'm very grateful for her generosity but I still need more help. Can you please refer this fundraiser to anyone you know who'd be willing to help? I don't care if it's $5, every penny helps. Let people know this isn't a scam. Please read my blog "The Kaelan Fund".
