I've been in and out of bands for a while, never really finding what I was looking for, until I discovered the power of Digital Audio Workstation software and some plugins. This turned out to work best for me.
All bass, drums and keyboards you hear are done on the computer. The guitar parts I did myself. All this takes place at home.
It'll be fun to see if I can find a good vocal match for every song I create. Preferably a different vocalist for each one of them.
The first one, Avert your eyes, turned out pretty nice I think.
Let's see what the future brings.
As for the name, 'Shallow faith' is by no means intended to have a religious reference.
As Nico was thinking up a suitable band name to go with the lyrics he came across the following:
Faith. The obligation of loyalty or fidelity to a person, promise, engagement, etc.: Failure to appear would be breaking faith. Shallow. Lacking depth; superficial: a mind that is not narrow but shallow.
Shallow faith believes that we have an obligation, by birth, to life in general, to preserve and cherish the planet we live on and all its organisms. An obligation for we obviously lack the instinct that makes other creatures do so by nature.
Despite our willingness to correct the wrongs we have done our planet, we're not really inclined to give up the privileges we have, especially in the light of our economic interests.
So one could say we're rather shallow in meeting this obligation.
