About me:

Hello all!

Welcome to my little slice of Myspace. Most of the info you can glean from the modules to your left, so I won't waste time with mundane things like A/S/L.

So, about me...

I like dining out, book stores, imported music, art shows, antique shopping or even just a nice walk in a picturesque surrounding. I don't play sports, or really understand the whole competitive nature for that matter. I'm just a blue-collar gay man, living smack-dab in the middle of the Bible Belt. I'm in a wonderful relationship with my partner, and we tend to enjoy milder and more comfortable venues if we want to go out. We don't do the circuit parties, take drugs or go whoring ourselves to everyone else -- we're just a couple of boring men living together.

I write reviews on Urbanspoon.com. Do you have a restaurant I should try? If so, send my the restaurant's name and location city - I'll add it to my wishlist or will try it out if I'm in your area.

Your welcome....glad you guys like it.
  • Nov 13 2009 3:24 PM

ok...hope you like it!   I just got done doing another one, and starting a new one later today.  I have to get ready to go to the Dr. soon.
We got some nice weather here finally.  Got the air off windows open, feels soooooo good.  talk to ya later.

hey, thanks for the hug...I ment to tell you that last time.  It's the high blood sugar, I have high blood pressure too, had that for over 15 years now.  Did grandma Marie have to take needles?  Dick's mom had to take the needles.  Sometimes I gave her her shot.  Dick has the pills, same metformin 500 mg. as me.  Dick doesn't follow any diet and neither did his mom.  He eats everything and anything he wants, if his sugar goes to high he takes an extra pill to lower it.  I don't like the way he does this and I keep telling him, but he doesn't listen.  He knows what can happen.
  • Oct 9 2009 4:15 PM

yes, pills...I start today taking them.  I feel fine, Dr. said it shows up in my blood work.  So now I am taking 2 new pills a day for high cholestrol also.  I called Liberty Medical and they are sending me the testing monitor, test strips, lancets, and whatever I need to check my sugar daily.

...the usual...money, Dick not having a job.  I get so mad cause it seems like he is not even looking.  I look for him, I find them and when he gets the interviews, it's lost.  Now they cut his unemployment.  down $56 a month.  I had to cancel what little medical ins. i was paying for him.
I told him to try for medicaid and food stamps.  So I filled out the appl. online, and we can't get food stamps , we make 2 much by $30.00 is what he told me when the lady called.  Medicaid is only for 65 or older or disabled.  I thought maybe they can help with his meds being a diabetic and having asthma.  He has to find a job.  UPS is looking for only 10 people and he said there was so many there.  They just layed off a bunch of firemen from Ft myers and a few of those guys were there. The position is a part time temp. position and will last till dec 31, no benefits.  They told him if he gets another call back that will be the interview.  So far...no call. This is why I'm depressed.

  • Sep 28 2009 4:45 AM

Glad to hear you guys are ok.    Not good news about the others, that is scary.
    hows your sister doing?..
  • Sep 23 2009 4:31 PM

No...but I am walking with just a cane now.  The pain I get now is in my back when standing or walking, so no marathons yet.  Went to the Dr yesterday, he said it is starting to look good.  Took me off 1 of the antibotics.  He said sometimes this healing can take months, but it looks good compared to what it used to look like.  It's getting pretty expensive buying gauze and pads to cover and absorb the drainage, so I came up with the idea of a maxi pad.  Dick thought I was nuts.  When I showed the Dr. he said it's a great idea and has been done before.  My incision is just about the same length.  It works good.  And they are cheaper to buy than gauze and sterile pads.
Enough about me, are you guys ok????   Anywhere near the floods?  Have you got any there?  I saw pics of six flags under water.....WOW.
  • Sep 14 2009 12:34 AM

No, I'm sorry, no pics. :(  My camera hasn't had batteries in it, in forever!  And Sorsha hates when I use her camera.  Usually I tell her to watch it or it'll be my camera!  But really, I didn't even think to bring a camera!

    Sorry. :(

It wasn't anything spectacular or anything like that.  There was this juggler that was cool, and Kris played with him for a while. :)  And there was this booth, where the lady was ready to go, so she started giving out black garbage bags for $20 and you were allowed to STUFF it with as much stuff as you could!  So we got a lot of neat-O things for the house!  ^_^  I'll try to post pics of those when I finally get it all up. :D

But other then that, it was your average fair w/ rides, food and lots of stuff to buy!

Thanks for asking. ^_^  Love you!

Haven't done any since my theripist left.  I do a little stretching and trying different things.  Like now I am able to last a little longer laying on my right side.  I go back to the DR. a week from tues the 22nd.  I have been taking all my antibiotics, and trying to get the infection gone.  The redness is going down and it's turning purple.  And the seeping is slowing down. It itches like crazy.  I have pics of it if you want to see.  I didn't want to post them so anyone can see, it might gross some people out.  Let me know if you want me to send them 2 you.
How you been lately?   How's Eric & your mom?  I really like the pics you guys put on of the nature walk.  I can see my self going thru it on my wheel chair.  LOL
  • Sep 3 2009 4:13 PM

awwww.  Ray, I wish I could help too.  I know what it's like to be in that situation.  It's very scary, and all you want is to be with the ones you love.  Good luck and I hope all works out ok for her.
  • Sep 2 2009 3:01 PM

Morning Ray...what was your surprising news?
  • Sep 1 2009 1:23 PM

The Dr wasn't in yesterday...I was told to drop by today between 9-12 to see the Dr.
But the nurse was there and she looked at it and said my incision was angry from the change of getting the staples and showering and such.  It does show signs of infection.  She called me in a RX. 4 pills a day.  Last night I was running a fever, went as high as 100.3.  Then it went down and I went to bed and today no fever.
So pretty soon I'll be heading to the DR's office.  I'll fill ya in more tomorrow.
  • Aug 28 2009 4:56 PM

no...not me...that's the dr's office job.  Besides I am doing the normal stuff of bathroom, shower, and stuff like that to take care of myself, and I am also able to get into a vehicle to go to therpy.
So it's up to them if they want to send me.  Actually I just need to walk more.  And then try a little more the next day.
It's just a slow timing process.  I don't have all that pain I used to have.  There are certain things I still will never be able to do so the hip doesn't pop out of place.  No crossing my legs, always have my R leg out when getting up and down, and no bending down more than 90* angle.  It's hard to always remember this stuff.  But it's better than the pain.
  • Aug 27 2009 2:20 PM

Bad news about the theripist....he said he still can't cuz medicare won't pay.  He said the Dr's office doesn't seem to understand that.  So yesterday was my last day with him.
  • Aug 26 2009 4:03 PM

Yea..it wasn't that bad.  Last time I had alot where the skin grew over it.  That was painful.  She did real good this time.  It was 40 staples.  I don't go back for 1 month now.  But he want's me to continue home therpy, cool I get to keep Dominic...LOL.
