Actually if you check around a little instead of relying on limbuagh and company to do it for you , you may find that Obama actually supports limited offshore drilling. McCains plan isnt really that much different, they drill a little more, and then the oil addicts can have another couple of years of cheap gas until this problem arises a third time...remember the seventies? How about a little money for research on alternative fuels? Wouldnt it be nice to get that monkey off our backs? In the meantime, try carpooling, riding a bike or the bus...its called "conservation".....kinda like "conservative" republican....ironic huh?


Will appoint judges who interpret the law not make it

Since Judges CANT MAKE LAWS this is kinda asanine. Read it as code for Judges who wont let us legislate our prejudices and bigotry. There is an element in this country who wont rest until they turn their particular brand of theologic morality into the law of the land, and would punish judges who take the time to point out that our country is not founded on any one religion, and in fact spells this out in the constitution.

You might even learn that the drawdown in iraq that was just announced is merely a reshuffeling of troops...instead of replacing guys coming home from iraq the new units will go instead to afghanistan. If you read a little farther you will even realize that democrats are for this one! Remember any protests against the war in afghanistan? Know why you dont?They were all about iraq because people like me recognized from the beginning that it was a tragic misallocation of forces...but what do I know?

This is actually a blatant bald faced lie. Obama is proposing a maximum of 20%, 5% more than the current rate of 15%...and this only on houses over 500,000 dollars. Not all by any means...in fact...the big 0% at the beginning? Notice it is followed by McCain wanting " no change" well.....since its not 0% but rather 15%. then where did the 0 come from??? Just thrown in there to make you think that 0% is what you will get with McCain....so is that a lie or a distortion???    who here lives in a house worth over a half million dollars? anyone?....anyone?,,,,,anyone??

alas...more bullshit. Obama never said any such number. His highest number here would be 28% on and that only on incomes over $250,000 dollars a year. Actually this is misleading. Both candidates favore EXTENDING the bush tax cuts, however Obama wants to cut it off at the 250,000 dollar a year level. and  grand total increase? twelve dollars. In fact in all lesser income brackets the proposed credits in the Obama plan actually result in LOWER taxes than the McCain plan!! For example....if you make 38 to 66 thousand a year McCains plan would lower your tax bill by 319.00 dollars....Obama would lower it by ONE THOUSAND FORTY TWO dollars....this can be seen at the website of the TAX POLICY CENTER, a non partisan orginazation that "crunched" the numbers for you.....keep trying guys...you will be right on one of these yet!

Sigh...more blatant lies. BUSH DID NOT REPEAL THIS TAX! And it only applies to inheritances of estates valued at over 2 MILLION dollars. This tax tops out at 45% on the highest inheritances and is already scheduled to apply only to estates over 3.5 MILLION in 2009, repeal in 2010, then reinstatement in 2011 at a rate of 55% on any estate over 1 MILLION. Thats it. Nothing else. McCain wants the exclusion raised to 5 million, and a lowering of the tax to 15%, while Obama favors keeping it at next years 3.5 and at the current 45%

boo hoo...poor little rich people. Maybe you should look into how this tax began...and why. It goes back to the rich living tax free on inherited wealth yet enjoying all the protections that the rest of us will pay for.


NEW TAXES PROPOSED BY OBAMA

New government taxes proposed on homes that are more than 2400 square feet. New gasoline taxes (as if gas weren't high enough already) New taxes on natural resources consumption (heating gas, water, electricity) New taxes on retirement accounts, and last but not least....New taxes to pay for socialized medicine so we can receive the same level of medical care as other third-world countries!!!

The money for all of this is going to come from the money paid by those 250,000 dollar a year income earners when the Bush Tax cuts that were and are TEMPORARY are allowed to expire. Allowing a temporary tax rebate to end is hardly "raising taxes". As for the gasoline tax...I got an idea!! Write to Exxon Mobile and ask them to lower gas prices...after all they posted the largest quarterly profits of any company anytime in the history of the world. Maybe they could pay their CEOs a few million dollars less and give us a little relief at the pumps. OR maybe we go with a higher gas tax and use the extra money to pay for research into cheaper/renewable fuels! naaaaa...gimme MINE NOW. Screw my kids and the world I leave to them! I want mine now!!!!!

I had an interesting message tonight from an old friend of mine....He asked me if Sumter is getting me down, because I always seem depressed.....Of course it was meant jokingly, but it actually is blogworthy...I think. For years and years people have always asked me why I always seem down and/or angry. The answer is simple enough. Because I am down and/or angry. Why is also easy. They lied. Every single one of them. Of whom do I speak you ask? Well....mainly my kindergarten teachers, parents, priests, Mr. Rogers, Big Bird, Cap'n Kangaroo....the list goes on and on. And what did they lie to me about? About the rest of the people in the world....remember what they said? About being honest, kind, generous,sympathetic, hardworking, truthful and we would all live happy lives? Well somewhere in there I learned that people werent any of those things...at least not most people. Granted there have been a few exeptions...most of them are on my profile page on my friends list...but even some of them are a bit sketchy. It probably all started when I started reading Twain and Vonnegut....Voltaire lent a hand as well.....I saw how the three of them had come to the same conclusion, that most of the people in this world would just as soon kick you in the head as give you a hand up, especially if they stand to gain anything at all in the process...anything at all. That meanness, savagery, bigotry, greed and selfishness have been with us for centuries, and were an inherant quality of "man". Just look around us...see that four dollar gas? Guess who's fault that is? Not the oil companies......it was the people around us...some of you are guilty as well....think of the billions of gallons of gas that were wasted while everyone was tooling around in those giant SUV's.....SUV's that never touched a dirt road, were not needed on the farm....it was bullshit like, oh, I gotta get the kids to soccer and ballet. Well....a mini-van would have sufficed for that.....it was for pride and ego that most people bought them for. Pride and ego. Vanity.

 And what about the enviroment? Oh its ok....even though most credible scientists, including the ones commissioned by Dubya himself believe man made global warming to be very real, Rush and Shawn Hannity and the rest of the Fox "news" team say that there are three who dont. So lets start fucking up the arctic. After all, whats a few melted glaciers and dead Polar bears when I need gas for my giant oversized vehicle? Whats a few rainforests when I need cheap beef to feed my already overweight ass? Gluttony. Selfishness. Callousness.

More people in this country voted for the last american idol than they did in the last presidential election. The great opiate of the masses....t.v......Because who cares that after 6 years and billions and billions of dollars the Taliban is still as strong as ever in afghanistan....I heard that a few weeks ago a forward outpost was almost over run and 9 american soldiers were killed.....1 news report. In the interim I have been treated to several deep exposes of Miley Cyrus' new image, and a full hour special on the family of Brittney Spears. Shallowness, silliness...news.

Vioxx, Enron, Mortgage defaults, smog, acid rain, schools turning out kids who are illiterate, Corporate bosses and weapons dealers raking in billions, Crackheads, Methheads, Prisons run by private companies...for profit. By the way....dont drink the tap water. Dont eat any fish you caught in the local lakes and rivers...full of mercury.

A friend of mine once proposed a horrifying theory to me. It seemed to her that all of the really stupid people were marrying all of the other really stupid people and they were having kids by the dozen.....well, what do you get if you have a half dozen kids raised by two stupid people? Give up? Six stupid kids. And what will these six stupid kids do? They will marry stupid people as well.,,and each squeeze out 6 stupid kids for a grand total of 36 more stupid kids. Kids who have NO home training, No work ethic, NO ability to think critically...they wont even know what that means... and will probably end up dead, in prison (for robbing and killing YOU) or on welfare...being taken care of ...by YOU.....so that YOU, a smart person, wont be able to raise more than one or two ( Or a half dozen) smart kids....we will eventually be outnumbered. I fear that she was right and wrong. Right in that thats how it will happen....wrong in that i fear it already has happened......Its sort of the reverse of when HOMOSAPIENS pushed out the Neandertahls.........now its the dummies pushing out the intelligent.

The question isnt " why am I down and pissed off?"....its " Why arent you as well?!!"
