His music, his style, and his song writing…and that word is “ORIGINAL!” Patterned after no one, Shane’s songwriting is truly eclectic,captivating and unparalleled in its originality.
Born and raised in the Great State of Texas, Shane created his own individual style through life experience. At the age of twenty-one, his restless spirit led him to the serene coastal waters of Southern California. After seven years in a failed marriage, Shane found himself at a crossroads. With only a pawn shop guitar and backpack to his name, he traveled the beaches and sidewalks quite literally "singing for his supper" for several years. Living the life of a street performer provided him a perspective that few of us ever see. Shane always found peace and solitude through writing poetry. Once he began adding music to his words, the rest was history.
Today, Shane has returned home to San Antonio, Texas and is writing, recording, and producing his first CD entitled “BURDEN.” From heart wrenching ballads such as “Love Takes Time,” to the Native American beat of “The Dirt,” to the jammin' yet sensual tune of "Rock Star Girlfriend" Shane proves his diversity in each one of his songs.
Due for release in April of 2008, “BURDEN” is but a small taste of what is to come from Shane Lanford.
Ultimately, Shane plans to have his original songs showcased in films and on television. As a songwriter, his immediate goal is to have one of his songs selected by a major recording artist to be played around the world on radio and video. Perhaps, he will even become that major recording artist himself! One thing is certain: As Shane continues to write and record, we all have the opportunity to be a part of a true Artistic Master as he makes his start.
