   About shane perlowin
My music is a mixed bag of meticulous arrangements and improvisation, lush beauty and splattered angular dissonance, veiled symmetries and dysfunctional triumphalism, tension and serenity, an earnest grasping for meaning in a meaningless world. When left to my own devices my music is rooted in rootlessness and idiosyncrasy. I have a tendency towards lyricism that constantly teases chaos, memorable themes that forever threaten to trip over some jagged precipice. It is in this way that commentary creeps in to my compositions: all the pretty things are broken somehow.
