Sounds Like
Brian Wilson's illegitimate son adopted and raised instead by Rivers Cuomo of Weezer (given he had access to a time machine).
I've been doing music pretty much forever. I was born into a musical family, my mom being a world-renown classical harpist and my uncle being Mike Love, the lead singer for the Beach Boys (which also makes me related to Brian Wilson, the songwriter for the Beach Boys). After playing trumpet in the school band for a few years I realized I was not going to write the next "Stairway to Heaven" on a marching band instrument, so I promptly learned a few chords on the guitar, and I've been playing those few chords ever since. I won't bore you with the long story that gets me here, but the short of it is that after spraining BOTH my hands, forcing my last band Posterchild on sort of permanent "hiatus," I finally decided to come out with a solo album. It is composed mostly of demos that had been in various phases of incompletion that I just forced myself to get up off my ass to complete. Since they were all recorded at different times under different conditions etc., you may find the overall product sounds a bit like a K-tel record (i.e. every song sounds like a completely different band). Typical for any collection of songs of mine. I am sort of ADD in that way. I can never settle into any one sound or style for too long. I fought it for awhile, but I reaized it is a losing battle so instead I decided to revel in it. And thus I decided to name the upcoming album Pop/Rock. A few of the songs are a little more pop-ish and a few of them are a little more rock-ish. The album includes my shameless attempt to capitalize on my rock royalty heritage by doing a version of the Beach Boys hit "God Only Knows." Anyway, here are a few tracks from the album which is finally completed and can be found at CDbaby.com/shanesearles. I hope you enjoy it.
