Born in a small town in south central Oklahoma, Shane was drawn to music from an early age. Trained by the legendary Benny
Kubiak, Shane started playing the fiddle in local talent contests at the age of 10. Within a couple of years, Shane could be
seen and heard playing the fiddle in
various local country bands and bluegrass groups.
As a teenager, Shane picked up the guitar and started writing
his
own songs and his musical style began to flourish. He alternated his style, playing in bluegrass festivals as well as
run-down honky-tonks (often sneaking in the back door to avoid getting busted for being under age). His musical foundation
was in traditional western cowboy songs with hints of bluegrass but always with a heavy emphasis on storytelling. Whether its
one of his original tunes, a well-known classic, or an off the beaten path jewel, Shane never performed a song unless it
means something to him and he could make it his.
Shane has lived in the Minneapolis area for past 10 years, and
after
a long hiatus he has began to perform publicly again. Over the years, his storytelling has picked up slight inflections of
blues and rock (anything so long as it has a little grit to it!), kissed with a healthy dose of humor he honed while
studying at the famed Brave New Workshop.
But after all this, Shane will be the first to tell you...he sings all
kinds
of songs, but as soon as it comes out of his mouth - its country.

Hey Shane, Can't wait for your concert at The World's Largest Truck Convoy for Special Olympics @ Canterbury park in Shakopee, MN on October 2. I've never seen you perform but listening to your music on here I know it will be a great show and all the drivers will love it.
