Popular in fancy nightclubs in Shanghai at the time, the songs reveal to audiences the reason behind the city's fame for then being known as both the "Paris of the East", as well as the "Whore of Asia".
Shanghai Triad has been collaborating with New York jazz musicians Grandpa Musselman & His Syncopators to achieve an authentic vintage sound that captures the essence of the rebellion, decadence, and romanticism of the 1920-30s in Shanghai.
