Shanna was born in the U.S. In a small town in central Florida.
Who would think you could dig up a blues artist in such a small place.
How did that happen? Where did she learn to sing and write her blues?
Shanna grew up in a small town where only Gospel or Country could be heard on the radio.
When her parents listened to music she heard a lot of Rythmn and blues, Motown, and 70’s
Soul. She was always on the front line in her school choral. Of course Gospel and Spirituals
awaited her every Sunday in her tiny Baptist church From the time she was 10. She would
start composing around 11 years old, start her first collaboration in a band with two neighbors
and experiment with home made recordings and cassette players.
When shanna moved to Newyork, as a teenager she would quickly discover the classiness of Jazz and start
Singing and dancing there. Theatre and Broadway inspired her and confirmed her passion for the stage.
Finally Paris opened up it’s doors to her and she basically never left.
Shanna has played most of the major cabarets and Jazz clubs in Paris. She often revisits her versions of
Jazz, Blues, and Soul standards that have made her so popular in France. Shanna has done back-up for Murray Head(Move Closer)
And Marc Cerrone (Supernature). One day a producer Offered her the chance to sing and write, and so she did.
With her very first CD single she sold nearly 75,000 copies.
Shanna has done major French television shows and their Dance machine 3 at Bercy stadium and let’s not forget
A showcase at “Les Bains Douches”. Other Dance singles would follow the first success. She has opened for James Brown
And Matt Bianco at Casino D’Estoril (Lisbon Portugal). Shanna is present in different Jazz and Blues festivals. (Enghein-les-bains)
Shanna has just finished her first album. A newly confirmed blues artist, she is offering us 12 original songs.
Author, composer, for most of her album “Inside my Blues”, she has given us a warm and powerful
voice to calm our torment and our curiosities. Let yourselves go and step into her world…
