    About me:

I am well acquainted with grief. I am well acquainted with beauty. Sometimes the two are indistinguishable in what they show us to be true, in how they allow us to see. I have much to say and less and less desire to actually speak it. Give me the moon, good company, and a bottle of wine.

A partial list of things that please me: old books, lightning, film, art, friends, wine, trees, ocean, yoga, animals, ladders, rocks, honey, traveling, cooking, poems, unexpected smiles, yarn, averted meltdowns, the serial comma, crows, warm-weather rain, my cats, late night conversations, the smell of fresh dirt, random kind words from total strangers, blood oranges, wet clay, things that crackle, being read to in the bath, music, music, music, and, of course, lots of other stuff.

    Who I'd like to meet:

If I believed in binary modalities, I might say I hope to encounter a worthy adversary, but I know enough to know I am my own opposition and anyone that challenges me should certainly be my equal. Having said that, I wouldn't mind meeting the twin of my soul or the woman playing house inside my head. A god with which to recreate the world anew, beginning, perhaps, with four rising suns after midnight. Just a thought.

Kindred spirits, artists, dreamers, those passionately engaged in the world. Old souls, young minds, those unafraid to walk through the world with an open heart.

Barring, or in addition to, all of that: someone who will take me kayaking, teach me how to knit in the round, or who can fix the shutter on my SLR so I can take non-digital pictures again. I could stand a few guitar lessons as well.

      The Beatles - Birthday lyrics

      You say it's your birthday
      It's my birthday too--yeah
      They say it's your birthday
We're gonna have a good time
      I'm glad it's your birthday
      Happy birthday to you.

Yes we're going to a party party
Yes we're going to a party party
Yes we're going to a party party.

I would like you to dance--Birthday
      Take a cha-cha-cha-chance-Birthday
I would like you to dance--Birthday
      Dance
      You say it's your birthday
      Well it's my birthday too--yeah
      You say it's your birthday
We're gonna have a good time
      I'm glad it's your birthday
      Happy birthday to you.

Nope, doesn't get any better at all. Especially since I was with David.
