I write music that I want to hear, plain and simple. Either cuz I haven't heard it yet or I need music to fit one of my many moods or I just need to work through thoughts and emotions. It's cheaper than weekly phsychiatrist visits!
I don't know notes, scales, theory or any other music jargon so if you ask me to play an e minor something (sustained, 5th, blah, blah) or sing in the key of "who cares" I'll probably give you a look of some sort (confused, annoyed,etc...). That's what's so amazing about music though. You don't have to know the language to get your point across. You'll feel it no matter what!

I think where you were is like 5 hours from me, anyway. Jose Gonzales is playing at the Rhythm Room in Phx on Oct 3...you should check him out. You'd probably enjoy it.
