Sounds Like
a powerhouse, down to earth, rock show that gets funky, sexy, and introspective, with great songs that make you think about all the reasons why you love music in the first place.
Singer/Songwriter Shannon Moore is not one to back down. After an artist developement deal with Sony, 3 record deals, and a life threatening car accident, Shannon's craft has more than developed, it is truely evolving. Her lyrics strip down to the truth of life, go through it and take you to the other side. She gets emails on a weekly basis from all over the world from fans who track her down to thank her for songs that have inspired, or helped them through a crisis. Here is a bit of her story.
Born in California and raised in Houston, Shannon received her first guitar at the age of 10 and started writing by age 12. Living in the east coast for boarding school was where she realized music was her life. After graduating from USC, Shannon worked as an assistant to hit songwriters Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly(Like a Virgin, True Colors). At the same time she was emersing herself in the LA club scene. The combination led to a deal with Sony Music Publishing. After a few years of artist developement, Shannon got 8 songs placed on 2 seasons of the Canadian Prime Time TV drama MADISON. The popular high school show gave her a whole new fan base. She moved to Vancouver. Her band, Deep Julia, toured the States and Canada extensively. They opened for Radiohead, Peter Frampton and Jewel to name a few.
After recording her first record LTD, she was in a head on collision, lacerating her liver among other injuries. She went through an intense spiritual awakening and rebirth, then started touring again with a new band playing up the west coast, and connecting with the touring music scene, including , ALO, Soulive,String Cheese(CoMotion), thaMusemeant, Yonder Mountain String Band, and The Slip, Tom Freund, Hanuman...
As a solo artist, Shannon has an impressive list of movie and television credits. Her songs can be heard in numerous productions including Felicity (WB), General Hospital (ABC) Meet My Folks (NBC), MTV’s Real World , Lifetime’s Confessions of an American Bride , This Time Around (Disney), Midnight Blue(Orion), and Showtime’s One Kill .
Now, with a record released by 10 Spot, distributed through Universal, Shannon is performing captivating acoustic shows as well as playing with a new band line up. The 4 peice band is digging into Shannon's large catalog of music and creating a passionate soulful pop/rock experience. Most recently she has been playing House Concerts, and radio shows in the LA and Bay areas, as well as performing at NACA, SXSW and High Sierra Music Fest, where she hooked up with producers Papa Mali and Alan Evans from Soulive co-writing and gearing up for her next release.
"Shannon truly possesses all the ingredients needed for stardom… Moore is above all a top-flight songwriter…for her to remain in obscurity, as merely a songwriter would be a crime. No one could sing her personal songs with such conviction and passion that Moore brings forth with a searing emotional temperament.” – Music Connection.

Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?

Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN
Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
PS, I am looking for bands for these shows: 7/31- Blue Cafe - Long Beach 8:30 PM 8/4- Friar Tucks- Pomona- 10,11,1 8/11- Friar Tucks- Pomona 9,11,12,1 8/18- Friar Tucks- Pomona 9,12,1
