these tracks are no self-contained songs but rather one- or two-hour-improvisations cut by denis afterwards. the longer tracks include several themes sometimes changing from the wide range of calming ambient soundscapes to noise parts. therefore our music supports contemplation and relaxation as well as reflects inner contradictions and chaos.
we experiment with our instruments and with techniques from other improvisational genres like vocals, performance and experimental radio shows including post-production and our communication into the creative process. occasionally we question our habitual playing. we derive inspiration from slide shows or special scents and perfumes.
we are researching methods to make our music repeatable on stage. that means we are experimenting in an area of conflict: we'd like to attain as much freedom as possible on the one hand and sufficient footing through notations on the other hand to express the moment concentratedly and intuitively.
band history:
in summer 2007 the anti-rockist section of the former psychedelic postrock band face-about-face reunited in the rehearsal room: denis nareike (git), dorit horn (bg), rené jugold (synth, git). antje meichsner (synth) joined them. denis advanced himself on the drums and bought an old korg ms10. the band found a new and more internalized way to make music: getting away from song structures through improvisation and experimenting. their playing directed itself towards ambient and postrock. the following autumn and winter was marked with many creativity spurts. many hours of intense and inspiring material were recorded. the additional soundcloud player has some favorites from that period. spring 2008 was a difficult time for them. that summer dorit quit the band. denis and antje now alternate on the bass.

diesmal: marc drobot, texte
wie entsteht geschichte aus den alltagserfahrungen unserer vorfahren? was für individuelle bilder stricken wir uns aus den geschichtlichen ereignissen? wie leben wir, was erleben wir, wie entwickeln wir uns? und wie werden unsere gefühle, erfahrungen, wahrnehmungen und entscheidungen dabei zu geschichte? diese fragen ergründet marc in seinem romanentwurf “sumpfland” (arbeitstitel) und arbeitet dabei verschiedene aktuelle diskurse ein: die verdrängung der nazizeit in grossen teilen der bevölkerung, den alljährlichen 13. februar in dresden und der umgang damit, den geschlechterdiskurs. diese fragen werden an konkreten figuren nicht einfach abgehandelt, sie füllen diese konstrukte mit den ängsten und freuden ihrer seelen, mit den lüsten und leiden ihrer körper, mit ihren beziehungen untereinander.
das ganze kommt in einer sehr reflektierten und gleichzeitig emotionsreichen sprache daher.
ausser den auszügen aus “sumpfland” hört ihr heute abend die sozial-collage “ein tag im leben einer ameise” und auszüge aus der erzählung “das gleichgewicht”. wir unterhalten uns live über marcs werke und zwischendurch läuft kluge musik aus einer gewissen hamburger schule.
