Shannon Wakefield is an Australian Singer/Songwriter /Producer/Multi-Instrumentalist who is Dylexsic, Ambidextrous, 190cm tall and does modelling to support his addiction to cough drops. He also fronted indie power pop band "Ruteger" from 1997-2003 (RIP). Shannon's self titled ten track album was co-produced By UK Producer Woody Annison (Children Collide, Red Riders, Rocket Science) & Shannon Wakefield at 001 in Melbourne. This said album was funded by Shannon who took out a bank loan to fix a danky bathroom but instead made his debut longplayer. In the recording process 3 computers died, relationships broke down, cars were robbed, and karate lessons were missed this is the album that nearly wasn't made. Shannon was asked to describe this album in a paragraph "One might say Noel Gallagher sitting in a kings throne watching Gary Lightbody (Snow Patrol), Tim Rogers (You Am I) kicking around a dusty analog synth in the sandpit that Brian Wilson made those pet sounds harmonies come alive in."
Soon after the release of Shannon's debut album he followed it up with a self Produced/Wrote/Performed/Recorded EP "Beautiful Mistake". This EP was mixed by Luke Postill (Dardanelles/Trial Kennedy) cause Shannon gave him a briefcase full of $5 notes which was paded out with old issues of Woman's Weekly with Maggie T on 'em.
Shannon also had 4 piece backing band which he called "The Departments" which only played handfuls of shows cause Shannon is a reculse.
Shannon's last show was in 2007 supporting Tim Rogers. He since has retired from live shows and venturing into the night sky.
Shannon is currently producing an EP for a new band called "Clank Clank Yr Dead".

Cheers Shannon :D Thanks for setting the mood with your distinctive sense of humour. It goes quite well with our unique stage presence and between song banter. If I can return the favor any time let me know.
