Shante Paradigm is a singer-songwriter, emcee, poet, human, writer and sometime-actor. She is a solo performing artist and a founding member of hip hop-soul band, BQE, with Dutchboy . Paradigm performs in NYC and all around the country. In her other life, Shante Paradigm is a PhD candidate in Performance Studies at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Shante concentrates on female performance in hip hop cultures, racial, ethnic, cultural and gender hybridity in hip hop and psychoanalytic theory. She hopes to do something useful in the world through her music scholarship and music.

When not doing that stuff, she attempts to live by some spiritual principles, keep an open mind, enjoy her life and watch lots of Battlestar Galactica, travel and lots of yoga. One of her dreams is to have a farm with a vegetable garden, fresh herbs, a lake, greenery and AMINALS and build her own house and have her own water supply. Another is to be really friggin rich and buy Bottega and Dior, and get her picture taken for wearing expensive clothes and being in chic places.
