Dal settembre 2001,dopo un’estate ricca come non mai di eventi reggae carichi di buone vibrazioni, Ragga del Sol (D four, Karon B, Zì dread) ed il selecta e mc General D si fondono musicalmente per dare vita al progetto Shanty Crew. La crew diffonde il suo messaggio d’ unione, fratellanza e rispetto delle radici e delle persone, tramite uno spettacolo che prevede sia live performance (con musiche e liriche create dalla crew ) che dance hall (con selezioni di reggae, ragga fresh, foundation, soka, ska, rocksteady, R&b, bashment, hip hop ed una delle prime crew in Puglia a proporre selezioni di dubplate). Centro nevralgico della crew molfettese e lo studio sito nel centro di Molfetta ove si sviluppano i progetti musicali ed organizzativi; nell’ultimo periodo la Shanty ha ultimato una sala di registrazione dove produrrà il suo primo album e dove darà spazio ad altri artisti e ad altri generi musicali.
Negli anni a seguire la Shanty ha allargato la sua family incorporando Valentina (manager), Alex (selecta) e Urrob (mc/singer).
Dalla nascita ad ora, la Shanty ha suonato in giro per la Puglia e per la Penisola, partecipando ai principali eventi reggae estivi quali Rototom Sunsplash (UD) affianco ai giamaicani Bass Odyssey e le varie estati salentine. In oltre, la Shanty crew si vede promotrice di varie danchall e concerti. Memorabili sono le aperture delle performance di artisti come Junior Kelly, Turbulence, King Kong , Jah Mason, David Rodigan, General Levy, Brother Culture ed infine il grande Sizzla Kalonji. The crew spreads its message of union, brotherhood and respect of the roots and the people, through a show that foresees both live performances (with music and lyrics created by the crew) that dancehall (with selections of reggae, raggafresh, foundation, soka, ska, rocksteady, R&B, bashment, hip hop and one of the first crews in the history of Puglia to propose selections of big bad dubplates.
Neuralgic center of the Molfetta's crew and the study site in the center of Molfetta city where the musical organizational projects develop him; in the last period the Shanty crew has completed a room of recording where it will his first album and where it will give space to other artists and to other musical son-in-laws.
In the years to follow the Shanty Crew has widened her family incorporating Valentina (manager), Alex (selecta) and Urrob (mc/singer). From the birth to the Shanty has now, played around for Puglia and for the Peninsula, participating in the principal events reggae summer what Rototom Sunsplash (UD) with the jamaicans Bass Odyssey and the various summers "salentine".
In over, the Shanty Crew is seen promoting of various dancehall and concerts. Memorable they are the openings of performances of artists as Junior Kelly, Turbulence, King Kong, Jah Mason, sir David Rodigan, General Levy, Brother Culture and finally the great Sizzla Kalonji.
