SHARKWATER's Interests
Music
Portishead, Nina Simone, Ali Farka Toure, Rye Cooder, Aphex Twin, and Jeff Rona are all in the Sharkwater Soundtrack - which you can hear on Sharkwater.com
In an effort to protect sharks, (Biologist/Filmmaker) Rob Stewart teams up with renegade conservationist Paul Watson of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. Their unbelievable adventure together starts with a battle between the Sea Shepherd and shark poachers in Guatemala, resulting in pirate boat rammings, gunboat chases, mafia espionage, corrupt court systems and attempted murder charges, forcing them to flee for their lives.
Through it all, Stewart discovers these magnificent creatures have gone from predator to prey, and how despite surviving the earth's history of mass extinctions, they could easily be wiped out within a few years due to human greed.
Stewart's remarkable journey of courage and determination changes from a mission to save the world's sharks, into a fight for his life, and that of humankind.
"When the guns came out I started filming our journey so we'd have a record of what happened to us.
I think people will love this film because it's different. It's a true life adventure about a guy that wanted to save sharks."
-Rob Stewart
One day you said me go on the blog, have discussion with other shark's defenders because sometimes i was feeling alone in this hard fight. You were right. lol. Because i didn't think there was so much people who love sharks here! I met wonderful shark's friends here and we are feeling stronger together. So just wanted to thank you for the advice!! Hope now Sharkwater in China won some support, and even A LOT OF SUPPORT!
Hi... I do not know if you are the true Rob Stewart but I wanted to say to you Thank you. Thank you to exist. Thank you for your fight to save the sharks. I saw your documentary SHARKWATER in the cinema and my vision of the sharks completely changed. Thank you for it too because our fear of the sharks comes from our ignorance of their importance on this earth. I have was shocked and sad of their fates. I hope that your fight is not vain and that the sharks will be protected. Continue like that. I support you and I admire you Kiss From France NELLY

I was finally able to obtain a copy of Sharkwater, Ive been looking for it everywhere with no avail. But it was one of the greatest documentaries of the sharkfinning industry that I have ever seen. A few times it even brought me to tears and I can only hope one day I have the same amount of courage to go and do what you do. I only tell people about it and am unable to do too much since I am still in college. Keep fighting for the sharks...we need more people like you out there to try and save these magnificent animals. <3
