SharpCuts 2008 Festival Dates Announced
SharpCuts returns to invade Guelph in 2008! After an ambitious and successful first year, the indie film and music festival is back to celebrate independent, local and international talent October 17-19. Mark your calendars. This isn’t your average festival.
Sharpcuts: the all-you-can eat buffet. We like what you like. All of you. So we’re serving up a sampling of indie drama, comedy, doc, horror, and abstract work.
We have standards, too. The SharpCuts jury panel (industry professionals, scholars, and movie buffs) dissects submissions to select the best, funniest, and most provocative films to screen at the festival.
And a bit of competition. Think you’ve got what it takes to go home with some hardware? We want your masterpiece. SharpCuts ’08 is proud to announce hot new short and feature film competitions in addition to our spotlight event, “EPK-me”, in which three rival filmmaking teams, coupled to three indie bands, duel it out to make the best electronic press kit to promote the music.
A meeting of minds. SharpCuts is a central event that brings creative people together. We’re not just here to screen good films by indie artists - we help these films get made by offering a full day of industry workshops at local Guelph studios.
