Your vacation in our region can provide great recreation, adventure and relaxation – the perfect escape from the fast pace of city life. Come and enjoy the uncrowded, unspoiled, wide open spaces and leave behind some of the hassles and concerns of urban life.
The Shasta Cascade Wonderland Association, a non-profit destination marketing organization, has been dedicated to promoting economic development through recreation and tourism for more than 80 years in the region’s twelve districts - Yreka/Klamath River Country, Mt. Shasta/McCloud Country, Weaverville/Trinity Country, Red Bluff/Tehama Country, Redding/Shasta Lake Country, Burney/Eastern Shasta Country, Chico/Paradise Country,Oroville/Lake Oroville Country, Alturas/Modoc Country, Susanville/Lassen Country, Chester/Lake Almanor Country and Quincy/Feather River Country.
The Association also operates a California Welcome Center in Anderson, located right off of Interstate 5. This center offers a wide variety of tourism and outdoor recreation information. The bounty of our natural attractions is even greater than 80 years ago, but you can still enjoy the same beauty as those from previous generations.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the camping brochures! They gave me a great idea for stuff to do on my trip and I found some things I hadn't heard of. Thanks again for helping me plan my trip!

Last weekend was a total blast! Danny and I had to go to Red Bluff and while we were there we stopped at the Ide Adobe State Historic Park. Neither of us had been there and it was really cool. The park is so pretty and we ended up taking our lunch there for a little picnic. I had no idea the adobe housed the first (and only) president of California. William Ide probably gave up his title when he realized the U.S. President gets much nicer digs :) It was a neat experience and a definite must see in the Shasta Cascade region.

    Hi Aaron,

I am wilderness's SuperPoke! Pet! Please play with me so we can earn coins for my habitat.

It will mean so much to me and wilderness!

I can't believe I have sunk this low on the 'has no life' evolutionary scale! Arranging playdates for a virtual pet! ARGH!!! Someone save me from the madness that is within!

For anyone with an OHV: Check out the trails around Shasta Dam in the Chappie-Shasta area. I took my dirt bike up there Saturday and tore up some of the trails. I'm still a beginner and there were plenty of areas that weren't too hard for me to ride on. They've been working on the area with bulldozers, leveling out a few of the trails and getting rid of some of the gnarly rocks that were a pain to ride over. It's looking good but the dirt needs to be packed down. The loose dirt can be hairy to ride through if you're going fast and I almost ate my lunch a couple times. Stop by the Welcome Center for a map of the trails and then take 299 West until you see the signs for the Chappie-Shasta OHV staging area. Hang a right and continue on that road until you reach the starting point.

Over this last weekend I had a great time in the Shasta Cascade region. We went to visit the Mt. Shasta Lavender Farms which was beautiful 10 acres of Blumming lavender over looking the valley with beautiful Mt. Shasta behind the lavender as well. Stunning views really, everyone should visit it!! It was also about 20 degrees cooler which was also really nice!

On Sunday since it was pretty warm, we took our rafts to beautiful wiskeytown lake boat lanch and went to an island. We had a great BBQ, relaxed, snorkled and swam all day loosing track of time!! It was a great weekend and am blessed to see such fabulous things in the area!!

After a long hot day at work my fiance called me and said he was going to Whitmore Falls with his brothers, he had the time of his life! He said it is really refreshing, he's been there many times, but they had worked all day in 115 degree heat, and it was so refreshing! You can actually ride down the falls like a water slide! To get to Whitmore Falls, take Hwy 44 West, Turn left onto Old 44, at the stop sign at the end of the rd, turn right toward Whitmore, and go about 8- 10 miles. There will be a turn out on the side of the road, with a boarded up gate, walk around the gate and follow the trail to the falls!
