Who I'd like to meet:
N.A.T.I.V.E. Club stands for Native American Tradition In Valued Education. The N.A.T.I.V.E. Club is designed to support and encourage Shasta College students by providing services to aid federaly and unrecognized Native American students attending Shasta Community College.
Our club offers various programs: a book lending library in which Native American students can borrow text books from our inventory of donated books. If the student cannot afford a book and the book is not in our library, we buy the book and request that they return it to our library when their course is completed so that other students may borrow it during a future semester.
We also assist students in need of emergency lunches. This program is not only for Native American students but for all Shasta College students.
Our Native American Scholarship program is the most important and has been offered every year for the past three years. Five scholarships are presented to Native American college students who are active in our local Native American community. The amount of the scholarship depends on the amount of money we have raised during the school year.
All of the programs we offer are solely financed by our club fundraising.
