I had been using the North End of the Wall Street
Station on the NYC subway R-Line as my laboratory. It
was perfect, few trains came in late and no one walked
to the North End because the North End had no exit
staircases. Late one night I got out at my laboratory
and saw a homeless man sleeping on a bench and
cradling his half empty bottle of booze. He was
sleeping peacefully at the south end of my platform.
He posed no threat to me and I quietly walked around
him and headed up to my end of the platform. I was
in the middle of a new experiment. I altered my body
into an 11 foot powerful green metallic creature with
an elongated head and incredibly large hands and feet.
I was just admiring my image in the reflection of an
abandoned control booth window, when a train
approached. I crouched behind a large generator to
wait for the train to stop and continue. Usually no
one got on or off at Wall Street at midnight.
Unfortunately 5 loud and rowdy young men got off the
train. They were looking for trouble and started to
pick on the sleeping homeless man. I saw them
surround the homeless man and they started kicking
him. Enraged, I started running towards them. Each
running step covered 15 feet and made soft thumping
sounds that were not loud enough for them to hear
above their yelling and the homeless mans cries for
help. I reached them just as three of the young men
pulled out box cutters and started slicing at the
homeless man. With each hand I grabbed one of the
youths closest to me. I used them as bats to beat off
the other 3 with box cutters. Then I swung the two I
was holding into the concrete support columns,
smashing their heads. I grabbed two more and swung
them at the concrete beam. Their heads lost their
shape and their brains were oozing out. Number 5 had
starting crawling away from me. I jumped onto his
back crushing his spine. In retrospect, while in
my more human state, I was horrified at my
viciousness. But at that time in my altered mind and
body I was enraged and totally beyond control. Id
definitely have to work on that.
Next morning, while having my breakfast and watching
the CNN News, I caught the interview of the homeless
man who was recovering from minor injuries in his
hospital bed at Saint Vincents Hospital. He had an
incredible wild story about a green monster, which the
police attributed to his delirious alcoholic state.
Of course no one believed his story, but no one could
explain the 5 dead men found next to him on the subway
platform. Hey, who gives a rats ass about five less
slime inhabiting the face of the Earth. Ugh, I
almost puked when CNN aired the interview with the
bereaving families. The hysterical mothers and
siblings cried that those were God fearing good boys
and had never been in trouble. They hoped the police
would soon catch those responsible for the horrible
murder of their loved ones.
My Wall Street laboratory was now under siege, I
couldnt go there anymore. I started to think about
Illyich and Zar and I wondered what they were doing.
I needed their help. Vivid memories of our
experiences on Korelya started to surface in my mind.
My thoughts started to be dominated by an urgent sense
of mission and purpose here on Earth. Korelya had
sent the 3 of us back to Earth to accomplish
something. Initially I was confused, what with all
the drugs I was given during the tedious debriefing
sessions. But now everything was becoming crystal
clear in my mind.
While thinking about Zar and Illyich another unusual
thing happened. I just focused on them and I knew
exactly what they were doing at that instant and where
they were. They were aware of my presence. After a
few minutes of clumsy mind communication, the three of
us smoothed out our technique and quickly filled each
other in on our new feelings, experiences and
experiments. We were all having very similar
experiences. We made plans to get together the next
day. We would start on a new path. It would be the
reason why we were returned to Earth.
