The Little Foxes
By Lillian Hellman
Directed by Brandon Bruce
The Little Foxes is Lillian Hellman's most popular work of drama. The sibling characters at the center of her hugely successful play are caught in a cycle of revenge as ripe and bloodthirsty as any classic Greek tragedy. Driven by insatiable greed to acquire ever more wealth, the Hubbards will steal, plot, and sacrifice all family ties as they attempt to invest in one of the first cotton mills to industrialize the New South. While literary critics argue whether the popularity of Hellman's play is due to its value as an allegory or its appeal as a satire, the story maintains an enduring relevance, dramatizing the predatory capitalism that Hellman felt threatens the American ethic.

About Shattered Globe Theatre
Shattered Globe Theatre is best known for its character-driven interpretations of the best in contemporary classic theatre and new work, including such successes as Judgment at Nuremberg, Coyote on a Fence, High Life, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and, most recently, The House of Blue Leaves, Dealer's Choice and Come Back, Little Sheba. Dedicated to the philosophy of ensemble, it is the mission of Shattered Globe to produce work that dissects, challenges and revels in the American experiment; raises questions rather than espousing philosophy; stimulates growth in and broadens the perspective of both artist and audience; and pushes the boundaries of excellence in ensemble theatre. To this end, Shattered Globe presents fresh renditions of American classics and premiere productions that celebrate new voices and innovative viewpoints. Over the course of its 17-year history, Shattered Globe has earned the acclaim of press and audiences alike, and has been honored with a total of 93 Jeff Award Nominations, winning 42 (including an Award win for ensemble member Maury Cooper for his supporting role in Judgment at Nuremberg). SGT has been featured on the front page of the New York Times arts section for its hit revival of William Inge's Come Back, Little Sheba.
