I constantly crave understanding. Between people, communities, cities, regions, provinces, and nations. Lack of understanding breeds contempt. I hate contempt.
From a very early age I sought out knowledge of what I couldn't see. I felt it instinctively - that there was something more than the physical. Growing up in the Protestant United Church did not show me.
I searched the world over for a system that spoke to me, but I found doctrine, dogma and control. Within the pure writing of each book was the essence of the truth, but it was dogma'd into life by humans interpreting the word for their own gain. I have found truth in each and every faith, brought about at a different place in time, in a different place on the planet - simple messages handed down in a context and form that the people of that place and time could understand. These messages to be built upon until such time that we ever-evolving humans could come to truly "know" and "be".
They were never meant to be written in stone - to remain ever-unchanging throughout time. The ONLY constant in the universe is change - as we know, what doesn't bend, breaks.
I found truth in balance - male and female - equal and opposite - yin and yang - fire and water - earth and air. I so call the directions to balance my life. I don't want to break, but forever follow the stream, changing, bending adapting as I so choose, until I reach my place of being.
I'd be honoured if you came with me on my journey if you so choose, but only as an observer. I'd rather you live your own stream, and make your own bends and adaptations. I'll celebrate yours along with you.
So be it and merry meet!
