Currently, I am working with Nancy Rancourt and Robin Benedict, developing a whole new sound and dynamic in performance. It is such a treat to be working and sharing laughs with these two talented ladies! We recently did a very successful show at The Studio @ Hamilton Place (below is a clip of the duet done by Nann and I). Coming up at the Studio are Ani DiFranco, Margaret Cho and just recently they hosted Miss July Black! Pretty awesome company to keep!
I have worked with some fantastic musicians in the past - Jordan Abraham, David Pontello, Bill Dean and Gord Disley, to name a few in the Greater Toronto Area. And I highly recommend the Sault Ste. Marie Musicians Jay Case, Lindsay Pugh and Ed Young. They are a triple threat and not to be trifled with. Fantastic players!
“The Changeling” was released in 2006 to great accl..
“Shauna Major's debut has all the hallmarks of a great record, good songs, expressive voice and good production. This is a brilliant album.”
“The vocals really won’t get out of your ears for a while after hearing this.”
“I could wake up to this every morn’in.”
Shauna's 9-song indie debut was released in January (2006), with arrangements by Spectrebox Productions. With tracks that range from the loveliest acoustic guitar/vocal combinations to the most sublime heavy rock band, Shauna continues to be - the Changeling.

Sounds Like
...the love child of Kate Bush and Jeff Buckley....
I constantly crave understanding. Between people, communities, cities, regions, provinces, and nations. Lack of understanding breeds contempt. I hate contempt.
From a very early age I sought out knowledge of what I couldn't see. I felt it instinctively - that there was something more than the physical. Growing up in the Protestant United Church did not show me.
I searched the world over for a system that spoke to me, but I found doctrine, dogma and control. Within the pure writing of each book was the essence of the truth, but it was dogma'd into life by humans interpreting the word for their own gain. I have found truth in each and every faith, brought about at a different place in time, in a different place on the planet - simple messages handed down in a context and form that the people of that place and time could understand. These messages to be built upon until such time that we ever-evolving humans could come to truly "know" and "be".
They were never meant to be written in stone - to remain ever-unchanging throughout time. The ONLY constant in the universe is change - as we know, what doesn't bend, breaks.
I found truth in balance - male and female - equal and opposite - yin and yang - fire and water - earth and air. I so call the directions to balance my life. I don't want to break, but forever follow the stream, changing, bending adapting as I so choose, until I reach my place of being.
I'd be honoured if you came with me on my journey if you so choose, but only as an observer. I'd rather you live your own stream, and make your own bends and adaptations. I'll celebrate yours along with you.
