  • Bio

Shaun Daniel is a singer-songwriter originally from the Columbia Highlands in the rural northeast corner of Washington State. He recently relocated to Minneapolis after developing his sound at open mics and pubs in Eastern Oregon over the past year. Constantly shape-shifting and exploring musical possibilities, his style shies from easy genre classification. Much of his music is nonetheless anchored in acoustic folk rock and Americana. He pairs solid guitar-playing with dynamic, multi-octave vocals marked by a bluesy tenor and ethereal falsetto. Currently performing as a solo artist, he has been involved in several group incarnations in the past (from jazz to hard rock to reggae). Sharing the bill with such artists as Finn Riggins, Jared Mees, Sons of Guns, Neo Tundra Cowboy, Gregory Rawlins, and Auburn Isaak, he has played in coffeehouses, pubs, warehouses, barns, and festivals throughout the Inland Northwest. In April 2011 he independently released a live album entitled, "Small Town Live," which showcases his music as a solo artist in unadulterated form. Between gigs and a full-time job as Communications Director for a community organizing nonprofit, he is currently working on a self-produced studio album which he hopes to complete by the summer.
