SHE is SOUL - SHE is INDIGENOUS - SHE is SHAUNTAII After a national search for indigenous singer/actors, SHAUNTAII has been chosen to be in the first Indigenous opera performed by an Indigenous cast, written by Deborah Cheetham, premiering in Melbourne 2010 & touring internationally 2011. A regular on Channel 9 & Foxtel’s ACC, ‘Wesley Mission - Rise & Shine ’ & her music played often on Koori Radio 93.7FM & Rhema 105.1 FM Wide Bay, from her debut self titled EP SHAUNTAII which was No 1 on the Soul Charts at mp3.com.au for 3 months in 2007, SHAUNTAII has been pushing through to inspire others through her music. SHAUNTAII has the ability to cross genres from Gospel, R&B, Jazz, Hip Hop & Classical. She has delighted audiences with her strong stage presence & uplifiting lyrics within the Indigenous, Pacific Islander, Local Community & Christian Communities & has been asked to sing interstate at annual festivals, conferences & special events. SHAUNTAII was the cover story for ‘SASS Magazine’, was featured in the ‘Koori Mail’ & had a double page spread in ‘VIBE Magazine’ after making it to the Top 60 in Australian Idol 2009. Nominated for Most Promising New Talent in Music at the 2007 Deadly Awards & in 1998 toured for six months throughout Australia in the multi-award-winning musical, Jimmy Chi’s ‘Corrugation Road’. Upon her return played a lead role in a community production called ‘Follow Your Dream’. SHAUNTAII’s passion lies in songwriting & inspiring people through her music. “It is my desire to bring hope truth & strength through my voice, lyrics & music & that it inspires the listener to be all they can be”. SHAUNTAII is the artist that represents the community organisation ‘Soul4GIVE’, where she & her husband work closely with the Indigneous community in NSW & NT. With her dream to travel the world and inspire others through her music, SHAUNTAII is now working on her next CD due to be released very soon.
