His music is rooted in the soul that poured from his hometown of Muscle Shoals in the late 60's, along with blues and jazz influences picked up since he began playing at age 14. He began gigging at age 16 and has worked with several bands and as a sideman with many solo artists.
John Shaw group was formed in Nashville in August 2007 and includes drummer Ben Azzi and Bassist Mark Eicher. They immediately began an intense regimen of rehearsal, recording, and live performance and continue to play throughout the southeast and midwest.
