RAY means line of light; to shine forth, radiate, (Webster). Shawna Ray is a fellow traveler, communicator, singer, songwriter, and author. Her mosaic music has a fresh sound that stretches the genre box with a mix of folk r&b influenced by blues, funk, jazz, and gospel soul sounds. Shawna’s authentic lyrics, inspiring message, pure presence, and soulful style meet the audience in a personal way. Her debut album will finally introduce Shawna’s motivational passion that comes from real life experience and a heart longing to build bridges and empower unity in this world. Her heritage includes Irish and Native American cultures, with Spiritual influence flowing through everything she does. Shawna is the author of the children's book, "TAKE A TRIP TO DIVERSE CITY," that was inspired by a real life situation with her son and his friend. The original book was self published through Winters Press in 2007 and Shawna started her own publishing company, Rhythm Ray Inc. with the help of investors in January 2008 to release a special edition of Diverse City with national boy band, B5, including a CD with B5 narration and a song that tells the story of the book. Shawna and her family have been working hard to get this book and message out to schools, churches and community events. She has a bachelors degree in Public Relations/Communications and has worked in community relations, development, and as a trainer in the areas of disability and diversity awareness with United Way, Goodwill, and the organization she recently founded, Open Bridges.
PROCEED WITH PASSION is the first single that Shawna originally wrote on a friend's graduation card, and BUTTERFLY is an autobiographical expression of her journey as a single Mom and late blooming artist; both recently produced by Justin Glasco in Nashville. Writing and singing were always hidden hobbies until 2005 when Shawna went through a painful divorce while still grieving the loss of her father to cancer. She was inspired to finally share the songs and books that have followed the journey; with a desire to help others facing similar struggles. She hopes to release her debut album, PROCEED and also work as a songwriter/lyricist on other artist's projects while sharing her books all over the world.

The best thing about starting over is that we can always do so, right now. No matter how far out things become, we can always begin again, from right here. The liberation and absolution within this eternal moment is always here beside us, like an old familiar friend waiting for us to take notice once again. Arms wide open ~R~
As a bit of a late christmas present I've set up a free download of my new album 'E-mails and Killer Wails' from my website www. chrismacband. co. uk .
It is a rare and beautiful gift to uncover, that every moment contains within, the possibility to start anew. Here we are traveling in a perpetual fountain of new beginning. Despite anything that was ever said or done before, this unattached and uninhibited moment is total and complete freedom to pick up the pen and write this story any way you wish. You are not limited by anything. Every moment, every day contains the promise and possibility, to perform acts of kindness, to help those around you and to lift ourselves up into a higher place.
Every day is a blessing, every moment is a gift. I give thanks for the chance to share these moments and gifts with you. ~R~
