I'm a creative, supersensitive, expressive love-freak of the universe, feelin' like an alien on earth with all it's confusion and weirdness, but trusting that it's all got a purpose and loving every minute of it down here on Mother Gaia. Feeling the need to connect with every loving creature on earth, sharing creativity, love, happiness...all the mostly free and good things in life, the ones that we forgot about in our rush for material happiness (does something like that exist at all?) while we forget all about the real values in life. My goal is to connect with as many beings on earth that still believe in those true values of our soul....dancing, making love, painting, making music or whatever form of communication that we can find to materialize that passion we feel deep in ourselves as cosmic beings, as gods on earth ! I need to travel, one place 4 to long makes me nervous and bores me to death (except Amsterdam in the summer !!!!), creativity, movement and change are necessities in my life, without change of things I become like a river with nowhere to go...I dry up and die inside. I need to explore and sexplore the miracles of our Mother Gaia, the Universe, to enjoy the God given time we have here and do this fully without hesitation or fear.....(not that I'm never scared though...I'd be supernatural...something to aim for maybe ;P) Well....I hope you're kinda gettin' a bit of a clue what I'm about now....
Then here some stuff about me as a dj...
Dj Shawnodese is Gosse Beerda, who's been a resident in Holland for most of his life, next to having lived in Germany and Venezuela. His DJ career started way back in the early 90's (1992) and after kicking off with mainly acid-trance & techno, he seriously got infected by some traveling friends with their hidden & unreleased psy-trance on DAT-tapes...from that point on, there was no way back anymore. After living up north of Holland and moving to Amsterdam things started to accelerate quickly and his name & fame began to grow rapidly in the psy-trance scene worldwide. Having been a resident DJ in Amsterdam's local club Trance Buddha sorted him with the many contacts needed for international exposure and dj-gigs. Over the past years he's been playing in many countries such as: Holland, Germany, United Kingdom, Denmark, Belgium, France, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Israel, Indonesia, South-Africa, Bolivia, Brazil, Venezuela, Mexico and the U.S.A.
Known for his master craftsmanship in blending and fusing every tune together in a perfect mix, he's been able to set off many minds high up in the sky and to make them enjoy the powerful intensity of his beloved and favorite style of music, psytrance. During all those years he’s seen almost every kind of venue and party imaginable, from clubs to squats, from massive in- and outdoor festivals to obscure underground locations and anything in between. As long as there were some pounding beats demanded, this man was taking control of the decks to deliver on demand.
Next to that Shawnodese is an expert in fusing many other styles like trip-hop, drum & bass, ambient & other down-tempo styles, which he's been doing for about 10 years. His sonic DJ skills have taken him from playing in the relaxed atmosphere of lounges and clubs, to the well known Amsterdam coffee shops as well as playing in the so beloved chill-out areas and tents at many parties and open-air festivals. With deep tribal rhythms, ethnic influences, soft grooves and esoteric soundscapes he sets your mind free for a long journey heading towards the listener’s personal inner verse.
For the past 4 years this man has also been running his own record label Mind Funk Records, in the very beginning in corporation with Inpsyde Media (Italy) and later on with his previous partner in life Djane Ada (Venezuela). Mind Funk did release 2 storming compilations in 2005 [V.A. - Twilight Twisters] & 2006 [V.A. - Complex Cosmic Creation] with many worldwide respected artists such as Chromatone, Neuromotor, D-Tek, Sick Addiction, Cyrus the Virus, Triskell, Slug, Concept, Zen Mechanics, Killer Buds, Bio Genesis and Orca just to name a few. After these 2 releases the label has been on hold majorly due to the collapsing cd-market. This asked for new strategies and after a well deserved break Mind Funk is back with some storming releases to come in the future. Artist albums of Cartoons and Peace-ka are in the making, next to a split album of the Brazilian monster acts Sychotria vs. Stereographic is being planned and prepared and last but not least there’s a new compilation CD being crafted with many well known and strong upcoming names from the Italian scene, such as: Peace-ka, Peyo, Lenz, Kykeon, Nukleall, Ghost Signal, Dust, Robot Revolution, Coma Sector and Assault Junkies.
Next to running his own label Mind Funk Records, Shawnodese is also part of the legendary psytrance label Doof Records as a label dj. Being part of such a major psytrance label shows once more that Shawnodese is a name not to be underestimated and a force to be reckoned with. This man has all the necessary all-round qualities in many electronic music styles needed, thus being able to deliver what is demanded on the spot, no matter where and where it is. So....if you haven't had the pleasure of listening to one of his sets yet on one of the many parties and festivals he's been playing worldwide, then this is a DJ that you all might wanna look out for in the near future...
