These are some shots from around the town of Alian, Kaohsiung County, where I lived for seven years. Time stands still sometimes.
Shayne Lazarowich writes songs about the simple, yet essential things in life: friends and love, social justice and harmony, happiness and loss. His voice is one of raw intensity and power and he performs with the passion of the folk and country heroes of legend. His new CD, “Spirit”, is filled with honesty and down to earth music for real people who enjoy real music.
Shayne’s own compositions, as well as his interpretations of classic traditional country and folk tunes, were influenced by artists such as Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan and The Band. His musical voyage is one that began with the guitar teachings of his uncle, artist Leslie Potter, and continues to evolve. His love for people, music and life has carried him all around the world through many different lands and cultures.
Shayne has played everywhere from Guatemala City to Manila, from Taipei to Vancouver, and more recently, back home in Western Canada. Shayne Lazarowich was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, in the heart of the Canadian Prairies.
