Songs in the player .... info
All songs Peter Hardinge (aka Roberts) (except Do you wanna Dance)
Mountain Of Love (1974)
70's Rock song
"When the power of Love is greater than the love of Power, the world will be at peace". (Jimi Hendrix)
More (Surely we've got ....) (1974)
Here we are 30 plus years later and the words still ring true.
Another 70's type Rock song with some fantastic guitar work from Dennis Wilson that still sends tingles when I hear it.
Thanks Den, John and Steve. I appreciate your input more than ever.
These two songs were recorded at Trafalgar Studios, Sydney around 1974.
Produced by Charlie Fisher (pre Savage Garden and Air Supply), John Sayers, Peter Walker and Chariot.
Transferred off a cassette tape (so it's a bit hissy in the quiet parts)
Kindly supplied by Steve Webb
Long hair supplied by... youth ...lol
And for something completely different.
Song of Spring (1995)
Instrumental, Orchestral, Rock, Funk
Originally written as a sound track for a movie.
Most of the instruments were sourced and played live off my Kurzweil k2000 synth.
Did the one man band thing, one track at a time on Cubase.
Mostly midi with just bass on audio. Took 6 months to complete.
I love writing Orchestrals, but the time factor limits my output.
Circles in the Sand (2007)
This one is a bit more Chill Bill, Jazzy, Bluesy, Latinish feel.
Having spent the greater portion of my musical days as a backing/session muso, I seem to lean more towards the instrumental side.
I write lots of little instrumental pieces for adds and soundtracks and this one popped into being one night in a couple of hours.
I had this cyclical chord progression, so I banged the rhythm gtr down on one track, one take of each on the rest, just to get a draft version of the whole thing.
Like the overall feel of it so I left it that way, warts and all.
Do You Wanna Dance (Johnny Rivers)
My instrumental version of Bette Midlers' take on the song.
Another cool and breezy feel.... good for candle lit dinners they tell me.
Thinking Of You (2008)
(Just posted) After hundreds of little instrumental pieces I finally popped one out with lyrics.
Came about ... thinking of how life's circumstances take us away from people that we would rather have in our lives rather than miles away.
Got my good friend Ronnie Domp to sing this one in the player.
Hope you like it.
Here's me singing in the video.
Thinking of You - Live at the Perth Blues Club
More tracks on the way.
Influences
Started on classical piano at age 6, flugal horn at 10, first band playing drums at 12, guitar at 15, bass guitar at 18 and recording since I found my old mans 2 track reel to reel.
Anything from Orchestral, R&B, Rock, Funk, Folk, Australiana, Jazz, Didgeridoo, Ethnic, Soul, World, Eastern, you name it really.
My MAIN influences are my friends and the many musicians I have been privileged to play/record with along the way.
I have been very blessed with my journey so far.
It has been far beyond my wildest dreams as a boy, in a country town called Horsham in Victoria.
These days I still enjoy playing and I particularly like helping other people recognize their OWN talents, whatever they may be.
If you have a passion for your instrument, you have a friend for life.
Here's another one of my friends .. ha ha. I just couldn't resist this one
Here's a little video I put together with the help of Dilip Parekh on Main Vocals and Marcie Flude on Harmonies... The first few seconds are silent.
I call it Urban Jungle Music ...
Sounds Like
Various Genres:
Anything from delicate Orchestrals to raging Rock, Bush bands to Blues, Funk to folk.
We love all sorts of music and have played most genres.
Here's a few shots from my commercial photography days.
Official Photographer at the BiCentennial Airshow Richmond Air Base (NSW) 1988
Just moments before the first 747B (wingtip) Jumbo lands in Australia.
"Premla and Pete, new to the Perth Blues Club, kicked off the night with a short set of jazz/blues covers and originals. Premla's rich jazzy voice perfectly balanced the electro-accoustic sounds of Pete's dextrous guitar work. It was an apt way to start what was to be a memorable night". (Perth Blues Club Review)
